Alright, just so we can get this all in one place, and make it as uncomplicated as humanly possible, this is the 3rd MEF guide to getting ACE and ACRE mods working properly.

First things first, you need to download some stuff. You need SixUpdater, a program that manages arma 2 and OA mods for you, and keeps them up to date for you.

Sixupdater loves to update itself, so it may update and reinstall itself several times.

Next thing you will need is TeamSpeak 3, this is how ACRE works, it provides the power to the specialized voice comms.

Alright, so by now sixupdater should be done updating itself, time to get some mods. Go to the mods section, and click clear filter if nothing comes up after a few seconds. Now you will see a big list of things like @lingor, @ace, @fallujah etc etc. These are the key mods you NEED to get for play on the server.

@ace, @acex, @acre, @cba, @jayarma2lib, @acex_usnavy, @acex_ru.

Optional mods: @sthud (adds a small squad radar to your hud, insanely helpful)
@acex_sm (great sound mod, makes the game way better and less paintball game sounding)

Now that you have all these mods, create a new preset in the side panel on the left, call it whatever you want. Now drag and drop all the mods into it. Next, near the top, you will see some preset options, set them to your preset name, set the profile to a2 OA any (autodetect) or a2 oa combined ops. Bam you are ready to join the server, get on the teamspeak, and launch arma 2 through the sixupdater program, and once in ask someone to help get you squared away on how ACE and ACRE works (most of us will be more than willing!)

Just figured out all the trouble I have been having getting the dedicated server launched (and the issues behind why i could never host for other games.)

Server is called III Marine Expeditionary Force: XXXXXXXX! (recruiting!) where X is for the current mission being hosted.

Now lets all get together and click on people until they die.
