When you're at the main menu click play with friends. Now press shift + tab and click on your profile picture. You will see a green "join now" button. right click it and say copy link address. paste it into your steam web browser and find the ##/ The ## could be any number. Change the ##/ to something like 73/ or 32/ Don't change the other numbers. Just one or two of the numbers behind the dash. now press enter. If it says "game not available" just change the two or three numbers and try again.
