Three Kingdoms has, in my opinion, the best campaign mechanics in the Total War series.
Diplomacy actually matters. Characters have personalities, relationships influence politics, and building an empire feels just as important as winning battles. Every campaign creates memorable stories rather than simply painting the map your color.

The downside is that campaigns can become very long, especially once you've established a strong kingdom. If you mainly play Total War for constant battles, the pacing may feel slower than games like Napoleon or Shogun 2.
But if you enjoy strategy beyond the battlefield, Three Kingdoms is easily one of Creative Assembly's finest achievements.
