Cineris Somnia was recommended to me by my dearest friend, and after finally getting to play it, the game quickly became one of my favorites. It's been a few days since I've seen the true ending, but I can't stop thinking about it. Everything, from start to finish, was so stunning, I especially enjoyed Charlotte's chapter, and the story told through the letters found in the prologue/epilogue.

Despite being a creepy/eerie game, Cineris Somnia feels very comforting and melancholic to me, and I'll definitely be replaying it some time soon, even after seeing both endings already. My favorite mechanic is the way the map changes during Charlotte's chapter based on your interactions with her, the initially clean hospital becoming gradually more dirty and ruined, along with the rooms changing completely, was truly mindblowing for me, and I think it symbolizes not only the way Charlotte's illness worsened, but it's also a reflection of how the war affects not only those who directly take part in it, but also the innocent civilians like Charlotte herself. Specifically, I love the symbolism about the colors black/white/gray in the game, but I'll keep it simple since I don't want to yap too much in a reviews section.

Back to the game, I give it a 9.5/10 because some bits were clunky/glitchy for me. Charlotte's chapter was alright, but the dolls in Ophelia's chapter behaved weirdly at some point, and I was unable to pick up the item in the fireplace of Marie's chapter despite trying more than three times in different bits of the chapter. Also, I'm not really disappointed, but it's kind of underwhelming that the reward for gathering all pieces of the ash is simply a book and a short cutscene, I would've loved a bonus room with extra infos or even some additional content.

The ending itself and the discovery of who the mc actually is was satisfying, and I loved the little hidden messages you can find in the different chapters, even if I'm pretty sure I missed some. Overall, it's a spectacular game and, at least for me, it's absolutely worth getting it even full price.
