On an oculus rift, I cant even seem to select a ball to get started - after seemingly trying every button and combination of buttons on the touch controllers. How is it meant to be done?

Is there a way to turn (90 degrees) as the my room is rectangular and the game wants me to bowl across the short side, and this puts my throwing hand behind my body from my sensors to make things worse.

As title says, I can't interact with the bowling balls. Pressing the pad makes the pointer come from nowhere. I've restarted everything, but nothing seems to let me grab a ball. Using Samsung Odyssey+ WMR Headset and Controllers.
