This game is hilarious. It's one of the funniest and most fun games I've ever played.

Between goblins, cursed cows, and a world held together by stick figures and bad decisions, West of Loathing somehow turns player stubbornness into comedy gold. The writing is razor-sharp, the jokes land constantly, and the game absolutely knows you’re going to do the stupid thing and lets you do it anyway, just so it can roast you for it. At some point, the game stops trying to save you and instead just judges you. And honestly? Deserved. The narrator’s growing disdain became one of my favorite mechanics. The more I ignored him, the more it felt like the game itself was sighing, rubbing its temples, and updating my file under “this person cannot be helped.”
From the moment I discovered spittoons, my entire moral compass disintegrated. I saw one and thought, What if I just… reached in? The narrator, clearly tired of my nonsense, begged me not to. Politely at first. Then less politely. Then with the exhausted tone of someone watching a raccoon approach an electrical socket.
Reader, I did it anyway.
