Game keeps crash after at the start after exiting the pod

I know of all the issues it has and even heard it was in beta or something so I know what to expect if the game runs like dump in some areas. what I'm moe concerned with is if the game will give me a good sci-fy horror experince. So far the only game to give me that was dead space and that was it....
