I hope you are prepared for terrible camera angles, and lots of time out of game researching how to play. Overall clunky, no real tutorial despire picking total tutorial as an option,. concept seems cool. but just stick to Spore.

The game simply has no gameplay at all; it’s just endless slow running and a pathetic excuse for QTEs. There’s no NG+. The combat is absolutely idiotic, and the enemies are all the same. The gameplay gets boring after about 8 hours. Repetitive cutscenes you can’t skip. Tons of identical enemies. A cyclical need for giving birth. Retrospectively, you can just sit there and pump out new monkeys for about 4 hours before you can even start playing normally. There’s no balance. There’s no proper progression, everything is just broken. While going for the platinum I got a softlock, because you can’t lock in mutations if you’re around 2 million years in

It’s not for everyone — the learning curve and pacing are unusual — but if you enjoy survival games with a focus on evolution and discovery, this is a standout experience.
