"Log into your Ubisoft account to connect"

Every review online is not only true, it is an understatement of just how horrible a sequel this is. If HoMM5 is battling HoMM3 for the crown of best game in the franchise, this this iteration is literally competing for least enjoyable with HoMM1. That's right, we retrogressed in graphics, sound, UI, and basically every possible metric back 20 years with this game, and that's charitable because I'm on the fence whether I wouldn't have more fun with HoMM1. I can see no reason for why this game should exist other than to be a perfect example of what not to do.

Went to play this after several years to see that they've long-since removed multiplayer.
I've got games far older than this with a still-functioning multiplayer system.
Leave it to Ubisoft to ruin a beloved game with poor management and an insistence on forcing players to use THEIR platform with an additional account registration and several redundancies, just for some extra "control."
The hate is less about the game itself. It's about the company that botched its support for it.
Ubisoft is trash.
