Overlay stability — translations stay on screen more reliably. Brief gaps or fluctuations in the captured text no longer clear the overlay as quickly, and translations placed next to the text are positioned and cleared more accurately when the scene changes.
Overlay text readability — overlay text is now sized for readability and no longer shrinks too small when several lines of dialogue stack up.
Pause and resume — pausing now hides the overlay, and resuming re-captures the current screen instead of re-showing the previous translation.
Capture shortcut — pressing the capture shortcut now retries until it reads the text cleanly, making it a reliable way to refresh the overlay.
Your language, end to end — the interface, including the in-app tutorial, is now translated across all supported languages. Previously much of it still appeared in English.

Known issue

Text that appears gradually — when text is revealed a little at a time (a typewriter-style effect), the reading can keep changing before it settles, so the overlay may briefly disappear. Press the capture shortcut to bring it back. We're continuing to improve this.

Problem with capturing the app's screen

When I select a game—let's say a downloaded visual novel—for some reason, if there's text in English at the bottom, it doesn't translate it, and nothing happens at all. It only works properly if I move the cursor manually.

Fixed

Translating into Chinese — fixed cases where the output could come out in English or romanized text instead of Chinese.
Leftover untranslated text — small fragments of the original language no longer slip through in the translation.
Review mode — fixed a case where a card's answer could stay revealed when moving on to the next card.

Improved

Overlay display — during typewriter-style dialogue, partial text no longer flickers as fragments, and old captions now clear instead of lingering on screen.
Faster way to get help — the welcome screen now links directly to our Discord and GitHub, so getting help or reporting an issue is one click away.

Known issue

Large capture areas — when a wide area containing several lines or a speaker label is captured, longer sentences can be split and translated line by line instead of as one. Drawing a tighter region around just the text you want gives the best result. A fix is in progress.

Quick fixes for the first run

Engine won't start (GPU / driver) — the error banner lets you switch to Vulkan or CPU-safe mode in one click. Updating your GPU driver also helps.
Model download stuck — check your connection; in regions where the default host is blocked, Playto automatically falls back to a mirror.
Capture or overlay not showing — bring the game to the foreground, and try fixed-region or Text mode.

What should I do if I've launched a visual novel in my browser so I can learn languages there, and I also want to record the screen to add and learn words, but I can't record the browser or the game running in it? Please help me solve this problem.

I can't proceed past the screen where I select the text recognition method. I can't find the button to go to the next screen.
