- Control each tower auto-recall/deploy and targeting type (auto, spheres only, ores only) in the property panel.
- Updated T1 base perks to drop the auto management feature.
- Replace T1 Auto Lanes with Random Lanes. T1 perks no longer cost energy.
- Orbit/patrol towers can now be set to a new destination by selecting it first and tapping another map slot.
- ModCard Upgrade & Reroll button UI polish
- Cloud sync improvements
- Mod perk (Magazine p3, Speed p3) bug fixes
- Tower Link nerfed to 40% (from 50%)

Recalling turrets to get resources is absurd

That is way too much unnecessary micro managing for a tower defense game. Everything else seems interesting and cool, but the recall feature made me lose all interest in this game.

MEGABOSS INVASION (New - Loop 5+)
Megaboss invasions can now appear as a special invasion event alongside Wall and Box invasions.

The Megaboss
Massive enemy, much larger and tougher than a normal boss
6 types: Bulwark, Aegis, Behemoth, Wraith, Anchor, Herald
Layers scale up as you survive more loops
80% status resistance
No armor, with heavily reduced shield regen
Gets stronger the longer you've been on the map
Bonus XP on kill

Behavior
Enters from the map edge, then cycles through different tactics
Can block for allies, patrol, lock paths, distract towers, orbit the base, charge, and become enraged at low HP

Invasion scaling
Loop 5+: Megaboss invasions can start
Loop 20+: Invasions can spawn 1-2 megabosses
Loop 40+: Invasions can spawn 1-3 megabosses
Loop 40+: Regular sphere clusters can keep spawning during a megaboss invasion

Rewards
Killing a megaboss with a tower drops Nu (Nebulite)
Base drop is 1 Nu, scaling with tower resource quantity and rarity
No Nu drops if the megaboss reaches the base or dies without a tower kill

INCENDIARY - WILDFIRE (Perk 2) (Reworked)
Wildfire now always spreads on death instead of using a chance roll
Spreads half of the target's existing incendiary to nearby enemies within 1m
Spread strength scales with afx damage, up to full strength at 100% afx
Multiple Wildfire mods do not stack

Bug fixes & small features
Auto sphere clusters now start on Wave 2 instead of Loop 2 in standard world maps
Max simultaneous (invasion) auto-cluster groups now scale by +1 every 20 loops, up to 5
Slow, stun, and cloak now affect Wall, Box, and cluster invasion movement
Wall invasion max depth reduced to 16 rows
Damage numbers scales with sphere size
Immune spheres no longer show slow/incendiary tint
Property panel tower damage range now shows 1 decimal place
Projectile pool doubled from 500 to 1000
Reduced scaling of Au objective rewards in world maps
Leaderboard footer now matches your visible row rank and shows "pending sync" when backend rank has not caught up
Increase all achievement rewards by +1% global resource quantity

Note: Steam Demo will no longer be supported, and will be limited to Core 2025 Map 30 on the 30th June.

Steam Next Fest: Core 2025 Challenge - Play the Demo and win a Steam Key

Next Fest is officially live, and Sphere TD is launching into Steam Early Access on 25 June.

To celebrate, I am hosting a challenge for anyone who loves deep strategy, optimization, and perhaps a bit of self-inflicted theorycrafting pain.

The Galatium Academy Final Exam

If you can conquer the entire core campaign in the Steam demo, you get the full game for free when we launch.

But be warned: this is not one of those casual tower defense games where you plop down a generic archer tower and go make a sandwich. Map 50 is a brutal, hand-crafted final exam that will test your routing logic, your grid packing, and your projectile math to their absolute limits.

The Reward. A free Steam Early Access key when the game launches on 25 June.
The Catch. Keys are limited, and we will be issuing them to verified completions while supplies last.
The Rules. You must complete all 50 Core 2025 maps with every single objective checked, using the Steam Next Fest demo.

New to Sphere TD?

In this game, nothing is premade. Instead of buying preset towers, you build them from scratch. You sit with a finite grid and route modifiers from an input to an output, designing custom projectiles that split, bounce, chain, pierce, and multiply.

It is a game built for theorycrafters who love roguelite choices, incremental progression, and complex optimization puzzles. The Next Fest demo gives you access to all 50 core maps, endless mode, and research up to Tier 3. There is easily enough depth here to sink a week into if the systems click for you.

Map 4 Progression Wall

After about 3 hours of playtime, I think I've identified where new players may be getting stuck. I reached Core 2025 Map 4 in roughly 20-25 minutes, but then spent several hours trying to understand how progression is supposed to work. Resources, Au, and XP continue to increase, and I unlocked additional towers, but it wasn't clear how to convert that progress into additional power. A few things that confused me: The game tells players to spend Au on new towers and mods, but early on there don't appear ...

As the title says - interesting concept but just feels too unpolished to be worth playing. The tower redeploy mechanic is just annoying.

Does Demo save migrate if I buy the game? I just need confirmation --- I really like the tower mods it reminds me of a mobile game called miner gun builder. but overall I just really like tower defense this game have an elements of Infinitode 2. Different resources and mining on the map....
