After the game was released to the public, the development of the project continued with active updates and the gradual expansion of game systems.

From the very beginning, my goal was not just to maintain the game, but to continuously improve it based on player feedback. The community actively shared their suggestions, ideas, and criticism, and many of these suggestions directly influenced the development of the project.

Over time, the structure of the game has changed significantly.

Some systems have been redesigned, the balance has been adjusted, and individual game mechanics have been completely revised. This was because many players asked to change or improve certain gameplay elements.

Feedback from the community became an important part of the game's development and helped determine the direction of further development.

Events and community activity

Throughout development, I personally organized game events and activities for the players.

These events were held in order to maintain interest in the game between major updates and to make the game world more lively.

There were also regular sweepstakes and awards for players, where participants could receive various bonuses.

✅ Sorting of items by several options has been added to the inventory. After selecting the sorting option, click the button with the circular arrows next to it: the sorting will be arranged in the inventory from top to bottom by slots. If you re-sort without changing anything, then the slots will change from bottom to top. For example, you have chosen to sort by item price: the first click will arrange the items in descending value, the second click will arrange the prices in ascending order.

✅He made changes to the system of using spatial cases with alien technologies. The module allows you to move objects in an unknown space, which makes it possible to carry a case with objects inside it in the inventory. You can install only one case of a specific model at a location. If you click "install" the same case at a location where a case of this model is already installed, then the installed one will be moved to your inventory and a new one will be installed. Thus, you can now return the cases that you once had under the textures. If you install a case of a specific model in one location and a second case of the same model in another location, you will create a spatial bridge for moving objects. By putting items in it at one location, you can pick up these items at another location. The spatial bridge will allow you to create caches and replenish supplies from items that you have put in your briefcase in advance.

✅Improved the system of interaction of ammunition for weapons from the inventory. The selected ammunition rank for the weapon is also saved, even when exiting the game. If you have loaded blue cartridges (rank 3) into a weapon, for example, and you have run out of them, or you have removed them from your inventory, then when you pick up this weapon again, the system will automatically search for the desired caliber in the inventory, starting with the 1st rank of ammunition and ending with the 6th rank. The priority of the search is from the lowest rank to the highest to save good ammunition. If you hold this weapon in your hand at zero ammo and press "R" (reload), you will see a menu on the screen with a selection of all suitable ammunition for this weapon. Previously, the system prioritized 1 rank of cartridges in a weapon when changing to another weapon slot or simply putting it behind your back, even if you loaded a high rank of cartridges yourself.

✅In the companion menu, which is accessed by pressing the "H" button, a button has been added to teleport all companions in range to your character. In this menu, you can give action commands to your companions within the radius of interaction with them. To understand which of the companions falls within the range of the menu, there will be an icon above the companion's head: a red square. The approximate girth range is about 100 meters. I remind you that there is another menu on the right of the screen for managing companions on the location.

✅An indicator showing the use of the Essence of Life for a companion has been added to the personal information menu, as well as to the companion menu on the right of the screen. A round indicator next to the companion's name: red means that he does not have the Essence, and green means that it is installed. Thus, remotely and in active battles, we can determine which companion in the group has run out of Life Essence, and we can save it in time. Also, when pointing the center of the screen at a companion, his name is displayed. An icon of the Essence of Life has been added below the name, if it is active. If there is no Essence, the icon will not be displayed. In the same place, icons of active modules installed on the companion (Reinforcement) will be displayed in the future.

✅Companions can now use first-aid kits themselves, eat and drink. It is enough to put restorative items in their inventory. When the companion's parameters decrease to the minimum values and the corresponding icon appears above his head, he begins to search in his inventory for suitable items to restore these parameters. For example, if the health has decreased, the companion searches in his inventory for an item that has a health recovery parameter. It can be any item: a first-aid kit, meat, injections, stimulants, or monster body parts. Inventory is checked according to the slots of each row from left to right, so if you want to set the order of use of certain items, for example, from strong to weak, put strong items at the beginning of the row of companion inventory slots. Attention: You can check which items a companion can use. Open the companion menu (with its parameters) and then click the "Items" menu. All of your character's inventory items that will be displayed in this menu can be used by a companion.

Greetings, dear friends! The New Year's Eve event is over. A raffle of contraband goods was held among the players who passed the event, sent a screenshot of the completed quest items and their nickname. The nicknames of the players were also immortalized in the game in the event menu. I continue to work on filling out the civilian sector and training mechanics in my personal shelter.

✅Improved the mechanics of interaction with cases and conversations with NPCs. Now, if you have opened the case/vault, passing NPCs or your companions will not knock down/close the vault window. The window will close only if you click "Close" or move away from it a few meters. It will also work when talking to an NPC. I think this upgrade will solve the problem of closing the menu.

✅Added a voiceover of the NPC Technique Instructor, you can meet him at the base of the Fortification.

✅The voice acting of the NPC "Head of the Laboratory" has been added, and his quest chain has been completed. You can meet him at the base of the fortification.

✅Added voice acting of the NPC "Workshop Boss" and 2 quests. The rest of the chain will be added when I complete the weapon upgrade mechanics.

✅A garbage recycling facility has been added to the base of the fortification. It is located next to the overpass for the improvement of cars. The installation has a timer, after which the destruction of all the objects that you put in it starts. In the upcoming updates, the installation will implement the issuance of an item with a random chance, which will depend on the number and value of recyclable items — an important item for crafting from recycled materials.

✅In the simple cases that you install on the location as storage, I have prescribed an additional code — this is protection against accidental selection of the case. Now, if there are items in such cases, you will not be able to pick it up in the inventory, and a message will appear on the screen. It used to be like this: if you pick up a briefcase, then all the items from it fall to the ground. The "Lock" icon in the storage menu was the protection against this, but not all players pay attention to it and use it. It turns out that there is a double protection now: a lock and a check for objects inside.

✅While continuing to optimize the code, I've redesigned the mechanics of using cases, tents, and other items that you set up in locations and that are stored in their positions. Visually, you won't see any differences, everything works the same way, but now, when you log into the game, these items will re-save their coordinates. Perhaps your cases will end up in the air 1-2 meters above the ground, and you need to re-install them on the ground. The new system should solve the problem that sometimes the cases fell into textures.

Greetings, dear friends! The moment has come to fight the villain Krampus in his icy domain. This update adds a fifth Snow Maiden, Snellina, whose quest will reward you with a magical item to activate the portal. In the Krampus ice Arena, you can collect enough points to trade for unique ice weapons. When you complete the arena and fight Krampus, you can enslave his soul: he will serve you as a companion. There is still a lot of time before the end of the New Year's event, and I plan to add some more interesting items to exchange for arena points and snowflake points from the elf NPC.

You can enter the ice arena only with empty inventory, without a single item. At the arena location you will find everything you need to fight. Think over your tactics, plan a profitable exchange of points for the killed enemies in the arena and strive for the final goal — to win!

Now, in the database of enemies and resources, when you hover over the icon of a possible loot, additional item characteristics will be displayed. For example, if you hover over an object that gives stats for protection, food, damage, and so on, this data will be displayed.

From December 31 to January 8, I optimized the game's client, processed a mountain of textures, models and code, and eventually managed to reduce the size of the game by as much as 10 gigabytes. This means that the game will become more stable, it will load and run faster. This is not the final, there are still a lot of files, I will continue to optimize them, and I am sure the client of the game will please us with its quality. Next, I'll do optimization on the locations to increase FPS and reduce the load, and then players on weak PCs will enjoy adventures in the world of LIFE EFFECT even more.

To get into the kingdom, you need to completely unload and remove all your equipment so that there is not a single item in the inventory. Only your soul can move through the portal to the realm of the dead.

At the moment, the Halloween event is extended until November 20, and the Big Problems 2 event has been completed. I recorded and posted a new video devlog #26 (Devlog #26) on the update. In the coming days, I will record a video on two draws from the events, "The Raider's Way" and "Big Problems" in which I will play contraband items.

In the arena, you can exchange for "arena points" auxiliary items for passing the arena, the points themselves are not saved, and when you replenish them by killing enemies, these points are reset with each new entry into the arena. Next, the "soul points of the dead", these points are saved and accumulated, with which you can exchange exclusive items in the arena. All the items obtained in the kingdom of the dead will remain with you if you complete the test. If you die during the challenge, or exit the game, you lose everything, and points too. While you are farming the points of the souls of the dead, I will release an update in the next few days with the main items of the kingdom of the dead, these are "deathly hallows", you can exchange these items for points of the souls of the dead. The "Big Problems 2" event is a new event that introduces you to the creatures of the underworld, and the second event is being re-launched, "The Raider's Path", which will introduce you to enemy groups.
