Families and Children
👨‍👧 Families have been added
City populations now include family groups, with some adults acting as parents or guardians. Younger citizens stay closer to their parent instead of wandering across the whole map, and some parents can walk while holding their child’s hand.

Parents now react when their child is in danger or becomes separated. If a child gets too far away, the parent will run to bring them back. If a child is knocked down or needs help during a disaster, the parent will go to them and stay nearby while they recover.

Children also have their own behavior limits. They do not smoke, fight fires, carry building materials, or water trees. Future City robots are not part of the family system.

Future City Robot Details
🤖 New Robot Idle Behaviors
Future City robots now have more personality while idle. They can briefly glitch in place with flickering visuals, and they also have a new hand-repair routine where a robot can drop its hand, pick it back up, and reattach it with small effects.

New Citizen Reactions
🌫️ Classic City Ash Brush Animation
Classic City figures can now brush ash off their clothes while standing, adding another small life-like detail to the city.

👋 Better Population Exit Animation
When population is reduced, figures now walk out with animated legs and a small goodbye wave instead of sliding away stiffly.

⚡ Lightning Reactions Improved
Citizens near a charging lightning strike now crouch and slowly move away instead of freezing. Future City robots react in their own way, with glitchy shaking, sparks, and staggered timing so they do not all react at once.

Lightning Visual Polish
⚡ Bigger Static Field
While holding the Lightning tool, the pending strike area now has a larger crackling static field, making the charged area feel clearer and more powerful.

World Rename
🌴 Canopy Dominion is now The Jungle
The jungle world has been renamed from Canopy Dominion to The Jungle.

Save System Improvements
💾 Safer Save Handling
Save files are now handled more safely. The game can keep backup save data and recover from it if a save file is damaged. The save slot screen is also smoother to use, with clearer status text and better handling for active saves.

Tutorial Improvements
📘 Speed Controls Added to the Tutorial
The tutorial now teaches speed controls as part of the early game flow. Players are guided through speeding the city up, watching rebuilding happen faster, and then returning to normal speed before continuing.

Display and Scaling Options
🖥️ Game Scale Setting Added
A new Game Scale option has been added under Display. This lets players control the game’s internal render scale separately from the window size, including options like 720p, 1080p, 1440p, and 4K. UI text and drag labels now stay sharp when using reduced scale modes.

This update also includes several fixes across citizen behavior, parent reactions, and other small polish items.

New Tool🌿 VineThe new Vine tool has been added.
Hold left-click to grow vine arms toward the cursor, latch onto buildings for support, wrap around citizens, and damage structures piece by piece while the vines are anchored.

New Achievement
🏆 Tangled Path
The Tangled Path achievement has been added properly in-game.
This achievement unlocks when the Vine Tool is unlocked. It was already present on Steam, but was missing from the game itself.

Controls Improvements
🎮 Better Tool Switching
Tool selection has been improved with a second tool page.
The G key now toggles between tool pages, and holding T while scrolling lets you cycle through all tools more easily. The HUD also shows when you are on page 2.

📋 New Controls Screen
A new Controls screen has been added to the Options menu.
Players can now view the game’s keyboard and mouse controls directly in-game.

👥 Smoother Citizen Release From Vines
People released from vines now loosen over short random delays instead of all being released at the same time. This makes vine interactions feel less sudden and more natural during gameplay.

Performance Improvements🌴 Canopy Dominion Performance Pass
Canopy Dominion should now run a little better during heavy jungle gameplay.

Jungle Visual and Figure Fixes🧍 Jungle Citizens Keep Their Look Correctly
Jungle figures should now keep their outfits and appearance during special animations like falling, being held, limping, recovering, helping, tornado drag, and burning.

🏛️ Faster Pyramid RebuildingPyramid rebuilding has been improved.
Workers now rebuild stepped pyramids faster, making Ancient City reconstruction feel smoother and less slow during gameplay.

Message to the Community
This update adds the new Thorns tool, improves tool switching, adds an in-game controls screen, and brings a lot of polish to vines and Canopy Dominion.

Thorns give you a new way to damage figures and structures, while vine behavior should now feel more natural and less sudden. The jungle world also received performance and visual cleanup, especially for heavier scenes with a lot happening at once.
