New Features & Quality of Life

• Combat Hotkeys: Added keyboard hotkeys for all combat actions. By default, keys 1 through = are now mapped directly to combat functions, allowing for much faster tactical play. These keys are fully rebindable in the control menu.

• Tutorial Clarity: Added a dedicated "End of Tutorial" confirmation screen. This clarifies exactly when the introductory sequence concludes so players don't mistake the transition for a progression bug.

Progression & Balance

• Infinite Credits Exploit Fix: Capped the maximum selling price of items to match the current shop's buying price. This closes a loophole where high-reputation scaling previously allowed you to sell items back to a vendor for more than their original purchase cost.

• Reputation Scaling: Buffed overall faction reputation gains across the board to make the faction alignment progression feel a bit smoother.

Story & Event Tweaks

• Kraken Encounter Safety: The Kraken event that can trigger before the final story gate has been modified to prevent active combat. This ensures players cannot accidentally destroy the boss prematurely and break the final narrative sequence.

Version 1.0 is finally here. Null Horizon is officially leaving Early Access!

As a result, the game will be 35% off for a week to celebrate!

Looking back, this journey has been nothing short of an amazing and deeply humbling experience. Stepping into this as a first-time solo indie developer, I had a very specific vision for this retro sci-fi universe. Today, I've come to the incredible realization that I have added basically everything I originally wanted to the game to consider it truly "finished" and feature-complete.

To everyone in the Discord, on the Steam forums, and all the friends who helped test and refine the game: thank you. You helped bring this project to life.

While this marks the completion of the core game, there is still a little more on the horizon! Here are the patch notes for the 1.0 launch:

New Features & Content

• VOID OS Compendium: Added a fully searchable compendium directly into VOID OS. You can now easily look up various game details and dive deeper into the lore of the universe.

• Extraction Probes: Added a brand new "Extraction Probe" item. You can now deploy these on uninhabitable planets to automatically harvest resources from them after a set number of turns.

• Terminal Revamp & Secret Cheats: Completely overhauled the VOID OS terminal, giving it better structure and adding several useful new commands. More importantly, I’ve officially converted my developer tools into in-game cheats via the [c]cheat[/c] command! I won't spoil them for you, but the codes are all recognizable classic sci-fi movie quotes. If you can figure them out, the power is yours ^^

Balance & Polish

• Late-Game Defense Scaling: Changed Hull Plating and Shield Emitter modules from providing a flat numerical bonus to a percentage-based boost. This ensures your defenses scale much better and remain highly relevant in the late game.

• UI Clarity: The flight manual will now automatically hide itself whenever VOID OS is brought up to prevent screen clutter.

• Under the Hood: Implemented various other bug fixes, minor tweaks, and small feature polish across the board to ensure the smoothest possible experience for the 1.0 release.

Looking Ahead

• Steam Achievements: For the completionists out there, Steam Achievements are currently in the works and will be rolling out in a future update!
