Why is there a radar altimiter in the cockpit panel?

Seeing as you are using a lot of analog, those of us that have extensive flight sim hardware would like to take advantage of that: HOTAS, of course, but also something like a yoke and multiple throttles, such as Honeycomb Rudder pedals TrackIR Logitech radio stack Voice Stream Deck, TourBox, etc....

Firstly, A great looking game - well done and I hope the game is a outstanding success. I'm curious if the game will present gameplay loops within the ship - not just the orbital mechanics management - e.g. system failures (such as thruster failer, micro meteor damage, voltage / amp overload load or underload.
