AI content

Is this game full of AI? It doesn't declare it on the Steam page, but the developer basically only makes slop. So I have to assume this is the same. The text is suspicious in several areas. Would love to be wrong, but if so it's disappointing AND directly lying to players....

PATCH 1.01 - STABILITY & PLAYER FEEDBACK

Intro Cinematic

- Added player-controlled pacing between major story acts - the intro now pauses with "\[SPACE/ENTER] Continue..." at 4 key narrative transitions so you can read at your own pace

- ESC still skips the entire intro at any time

Turn System Clarity

- Harvesting now clearly displays "\[PULSE CONSUMED] Harvesting advances time by 1 Pulse" with a mini turn report showing resource changes

- Harvest menu now explicitly states pulse cost in both normal and high-danger zones

- Only the next command and harvest advance time - all other actions are free

Resource Management

- The status command now shows a full "PER PULSE" economic breakdown:

- Per-building-type list with counts and individual production (e.g., "x2 Nutrient Vat +10B")

- Total income from all buildings

- Food consumption breakdown (civilians + army)

- Net resource change per pulse

- Sustainability warning with estimated pulses until starvation when biomass is negative

Origin System

- Fixed origin selection not properly communicating player's choice to the game backend

- Origins now load from authoritative data instead of hardcoded UI values

- Fixed origin not being saved/loaded correctly in save files

Diplomacy

- Fixed terminal diplomacy commands (sendenvoy, proposealliance, etc.) not actually applying relation effects - they now properly modify species relations

- Diplomatic actions correctly delegate to the Diplomacy system

Military

- Military recruitment screen now loads unit data from the authoritative database instead of hardcoded values

- Fixed recruitment cost display showing incorrect values

- Added population cost tracking for all unit types

Research

- Fixed research command calling wrong internal function, which could cause research to not properly deduct costs

Exploration

- Region navigation now dynamically loads from the Region system instead of hardcoded arrays

- Region and location descriptions now support localization

Save/Load

- Fixed player origin not being properly restored when loading a save

- Fixed origin display name in save file list

Stability

- Fixed compilation error from duplicate method definition in building system

- Fixed variable scope error in military recruitment display

- Multiple null-safety improvements across UI controllers

The Carcass

CRT screen font is difficult to read

While I like the aesthetics of this game, the text is difficult to read because of the character/font set. CRT looks cool, but is difficult to read, especially with my old-man vision. Also, it isn't clear how to exit the game: "quit" and "exit" do not work. I'll check the demo again in a few months to see if the font is easier to read....

Quick feedback

The game is nice, but the UI is utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. At least have a row that constantly shows me my resources, building and reasearch ques. Tutorial dosen't work and bugs out at step 4. Many actions that end your turn (pulse), don't tell you beforehand. I can figure out a way to gain calcium, which is money and building material in this game. If you work on it, you have a decent game here....

Screen size option does not work

Combine this with it defaulting to CRT on and the game is nearly illegible. You can turn off the latter but do nothing about the former.

Maybe bug with food?

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I just don't understand the game's food system. I see the following display: PER PULSE x78 Nutrient Vat +700B Total income: Biomass +81 Consumption: Civilians -124 Biomass (166 pop x1) Army -18 Biomass (7 soldiers x 2) NET PER PULSE Biomass -53 Why do I have 700B per pulse (700 Biomass income?) but only +81 in total income? If I build another nutrient vat, the income stays at 81, but the per-pulse yield increases to 718B. Is this a bug? If yes, is it game break...
