Shorekeeper Demo v0.5.2 Update

Hello everyone!

Thank you for all the feedback and bug reports. I have rolled the recent hotfixes and some highly requested quality-of-life changes into this single v0.5.2 update. Here is what is new:

Demo v0.5.2 Update Logs

New Features

Camera Zoom: You can now switch between 3 different camera zoom presets.
Quick Craft Menu: You can now craft simple recipes on the go without returning to the workbench (Press 'E' on the keyboard or D-pad Left on the controller).

Improvements

Added Sound and Music sliders to the audio settings.
UI menus can now be closed using the same input key that opens them.
Decreased the material requirements for planks to make early-game building much smoother.
Decreased crop growth durations.
The first day now starts earlier, giving you more daylight to complete your initial tasks without feeling rushed.
Removed the "Sleep" tutorial mission, which unintentionally forced players to stay awake to complete it

Visuals

Adjusted the lighting and environment colors to better reflect different times of the day.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where unlocked crafting recipes were not saving properly between sessions.
Fixed missing Chinese, Japanese, and Korean text characters displaying incorrectly.
Fixed a Turkish localization issue regarding specific characters.
Fixed an issue that allowed players to bind the same key to multiple different actions.
Fixed missing collision boundaries on the fishing deck and inside the mine.
Fixed a progression blocker where rain would automatically water the crops, making it impossible to complete the watering tutorial mission.

hey, i played the demo some but i got softlocked on progress with seemingly no way around it. i got to the point where i had to make the watering can, however the recipe for rope never unlocked and therefore i could not continue at all with it. other than that it seems pretty cute but very bare (understandable for a demo). also having no ability to adjust the level of volume for sounds and only an on/off switch is very off-putting. this isnt a mobile game, we should have basic controls available for ad...

Localization Update: The Demo is Now Playable in 14 Languages!

Hello everyone!

As Steam Next Fest continues, I wanted to make the island a bit more welcoming for players all around the world.

I have just updated the demo, and you can now play Shorekeeper in 14 different languages! You can change your preferred language anytime from the settings menu.

Simplified Chinese
Japanese
Korean
Russian
Portuguese (Portugal)
Portuguese (Brazil)
Polish
Czech
Turkish

Since I am a solo developer, please let me know in the community hub if you spot any weird translations or text glitches, and I will fix them up!

Demo v0.4.0 - Steam Next Fest Special Update

Hello everyone!

Thank you so much to everyone who has played the demo and shared their feedback so far. With Steam Next Fest starting, I’ve put together a larger update to make your gameplay smoother and introduce some highly requested features to the island.

Here is what is new in this version:

New Features:

New Mine Area: Added a brand new underground mine subworld where you can gather valuable ores.
Forge Furnace: You can now build a forge to smelt your mined ores into usable ingots.
Ramps: Added craftable ramps, allowing you to climb up and explore the higher cliff areas.
New Materials: Introduced several new resources to gather and craft, including bricks, wood planks, and iron, copper, and gold (both ores and ingots).

Improvements & Polish:

Revamped Crafting: Crafting is now much smoother. Selecting a recipe will automatically fill the crafting grid with the required materials from your inventory.
Minimap Toggle: Added an option in the display settings to turn the minimap visibility on or off.
Inventory Animations: Crafted items now play a neat little animation when they are placed into your inventory slots.

Bug Fixes:

Fixed an issue where resources you collected before receiving a mission wouldn't count toward that mission's progress.
Fixed the hoe tool so it can no longer till invalid ground surfaces like sand, cave floors, or wooden bridges.
Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented newly unlocked recipes from saving correctly.

I cannot even attempt to play the game as every time it launches, the character goes running across the screen on their own. It took me a minute to realize that they were not showing me something on their own, it was acting like I was holding the W key down and moving backwards worked on one re-load and turning right worked on another but none of the times, I could not make them stop running - so I was unable to try anything. And no, I do not have any controllers plugged in or anything. Looked cute but kin...

Demo Download Error

I have been downloading demos for this Steam Fest just fine, got to Shorekeeper and I get the following error - only when attempting to download your game: Failure. An error occurred while installing AppID 4378790: “Connection time out” Not sure what is causing this, doesn't matter if I click on the Download Demo button on your store page or on the Steam Fest page....

misc

options: .... no gfx or volume settings. .... every time i move past the gamepad tab with my gamepad, i get an extra a button select icon at the bottom of the options screen... so my whole screen is filled with that... https://v1.steam.hlxgame.cc/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3662123152 can't actually pick a skin with gamepad... after chopping tree and told can now craft something... can't exit that screen with gamepad... can't use the crafting screen with gamepad either.. i can change the hotbar selection....
