v0.4.0b:

* pH tolerance and temperature tolerance gene mutations changed from multiplicative to additive to try to improve the bias of cultures towards acidification

* Replication cost now scales with population density so overcrowding should be less of an issue

* Added the ability to remove crystals. Right-click while holding the crystal tool deletes any crystals near the cursor. NOTE: The dense substrate and remaining environmental effects persist. It is just the emitter that gets removed

* Fixed contracts that require culturing cells in specific environment presets

* Fixed sugar specialists never appearing

* Increased visibility of diet specialization

* The Objectives HUD now favors showing completed objectives that are ready to be claimed

Something that you may notice if you play a lot is that cultures almost always acidify. The intended design is that there is a dynamic mixture of pH that emerges in each culture, so I am trying to address this. However, it is a multi-layer issue, so these first fixes don't fully resolve it but they are an improvement regardless.

Super Zoomy Cells vs Motiles Becoming Immotile

I noticed it didnt take long in the dish for my motile cells to either start moving so fast that at 0.5 speed they were moving at the speed of neurons, or mutating back into rooted specimens. It seemed very hard to get a balanced motile species, but I honestly don't really know what I'm doing besides saving species when they've been in the dish for a while and hoping they're particularly adapted to their environment....

Problems with HUD

I just noticed that parts of the HUD aren't scaling along with the visible screen area, causing the bottom portion to disappear from view. I have two monitors: one widescreen and the other 16:9.

hi i couldnt find any place to easily give feedback so here will do. i really like the idea of this game and I've had it on my Wishlist for ages but after playing it i ran into issues. - the tutorial is very easy to break and its difficult to recover from a break. i accidentally right clicked on my guy at the start of the tutorial and killed him, and had to go into settings and reset tutorial AND relaunch before i could try again - the tutorial asks that you send your guy to the glowing cloud, but that ...

Tried to Play

The lack of UI elements makes it really tough to get started with this game. Please put more information onscreen. If I forget a hotkey, my only option to see what it is should not be looking in the settings menu in a program like this. 9/10 all important functions have onscreen buttons that show the hotkey when hovered over. Why doesn't selecting a cell show any information about that cell? Why can't I enable some view that will tell me what exactly I'm looking at in terms of the different colors of subst...
