About This Demo

Gloomveil is a game that requires attention, observation and patience.

Designed for players who love deep immersion and the joy of figuring things out for themselves.

What's in the demo?

In this demo, you can explore the opening areas of Gloomveil. It offers the same experience as the first 30 minutes of the full game, or a couple of hours if you take your time and explore every corner.

The World is the protagonist

Explore a vastinterconnected world that doesn't revolve around you. Each corner hides secrets waiting to be uncovered. Create shortcuts and familiarize yourself with the land to stay on course

Journey over destination

Navigating the world isn't just a means to an end, it's the essence of the game play. Observe the creatures around you and move through their territory with caution.

Combat is optional

Sometimes, in moments of haste or fear, you might feel compelled to use your weapon. It’s your choice, but be aware that this could lead to unforeseen consequences.

Features

  • A Vast Interconnected World: Find hidden paths, enter caves, discover new areas and create shortcuts, all in a physically coherent world with no loading screens.

  • Optional Combat: The game focuses on movement, rather than heavy combat. The world is filled with creatures, some aggressive some peaceful, and how you engage with them is up to you.

  • Mind-Mapping: Guidance is heavily based on the memorization of the environment, it’s components and the marks you place.

  • Uncover Secrets: Secrets are discovered through subtle hints and thinking outside the box.

  • Simple Controls: The game emphasizes navigation over complex actions. It can be played with one hand using a keyboard, mouse, or either side of a gamepad.

  • Day-Night Events: Experience a day-night cycle with events that change based on the time of day.

  • Minimal UI: Enjoy a clean, immersive experience with minimal UI and no distracting indicators.

  • Local Co-op: Play with another friend in local cooperative mode.

Demo notes

  • Local co-op is still in development so expect a rough user experience
    currently supports 1 controller + keyboard/mouse.
(Two-controller support is planned for the full release)

  • Demo saves will not transfer to the full game, as game balance and areas may change in future updates.

About us

Hi! We are Ricotoni Games! A two-person team that make games out of their love for them. We are trying our best to make games that WE would love to play! So those games might not appeal to everyone. What we really want is to create worlds that make us feel the same feelings we used to feel when we played games as kids.
