Thank you all for trying out the demo! We loved seeing your feedback, comments, streams, and reactions. ^^

Since we play the game daily, we sometimes forget what it feels like for someone experiencing it for the first time. You gave us the chance to experience it along with you as first-time players and helped us remember what matters most. This experience solidified our vision for the game even more and brought us quite a lot of joy.

Development continues, and we have many more things we want to include. You'll be able to explore more, uncover new paths and secrets, and meet more friends. We're taking all the feedback we've received into consideration and hope to bring you a great game.

The demo will remain available for anyone who wants to try it out and of course for everyone who has already played it. To returning players, we hope that the next time you play, you'll have somehow magically forgotten what it felt like the first time, so you can experience it again with fresh eyes.

Once again, thank you for playing! You gave us a big boost to keep going. ☺️

Demo Feedback & Known Issues!

Hi everyone! Thank you for trying out the demo! your feedback helps us improve the game a lot. If you encounter any issues while playing, please let us know here so we can start investigating and fixing them! Known Issues : - Black screen after death : in some cases the screen may remain black. Restarting the game resolves this issue for now....

Steam Next Fest Participation & New Patch

Event Description

We’re happy to announce that the game is participating in Steam Next Fest!

Alongside the event, the demo has been updated to Version 0.6.0.0. Here’s what’s new:

Content Updates & Adjustments

Many NPC dialogues adjusted
Some small areas of the map reworked
Sleeping insects added around the map
Starting map adjusted
New map added to Silk Path
Green Shell added
Important quest item added in a significant spot
Balance adjustments to the rage meter
Balance adjustment on items
Many more small tweaks and improvements

UI & Quality of Life

Settings menu text is now uppercase for better visibility
Clearer control images added in the settings menu
Inventory now shows item category hints on the left side
Categories can now be changed with RB / LB
Mouse users can scroll to change selected items (also applies in Settings)
Simple cursor added

There are now 10 Awakening Flowers in total for full explorers

Demo Reset Option

For players who have already played the demo:

If you want to fully reset your progress, hold F10 while pressing the restart button on the settings.

We apologize for the inconvenience of doing it this way. A proper menu reset option will be added in the future.

Gloomveil Demo – Patch Notes 0.5.2.0

Demo Size Upgraded!
The demo now ends a little later, giving players more time to immerse themselves in the world.

Changes & Fixes

Bumping into creatures no longer annoys the forest as much
Fixed several typos in NPC dialogue
Slightly increased the emission color of spikes
Shortcut bark now correctly saves once the shortcut has been opened
Removed the wooden sword from one of the starting caves and replaced it with a monument
Added small environmental details to help attentive players discover hidden paths
New collectable item added

Please add the map

The woeld is pretty big, lots of places to go and explore, and so its easy to get lost. So the map would be really handy. Otherwise the game is great.

Co-Op unplayable

We couldn't get past the bugs, pun unintended.

Getting the coop to work at all seemed like brute-force and luck. Not being able to control character, character stuck rolling or doing random inputs, etc. Then once one of us died, there was seemingly no way to rez, which threw us off a little since rezzing is kind of how you start the co-op, right? On one hand I don't expect an easy rez system, but since both players dying is kind of a freebie easy restart, it just feels a bit arbitrary to have ...

Quick Demo Feedback

First off the art direction in the game is great! As a few others have said I love that the world feels lived in. I'm a sucker for a tiny world adventure type of game. I think what confused me the most was the combat. I'm not sure if I'm just bad or something but I'm not sure how I'm supposed to avoid attacks from stuff like the Mantis. I'd expect something like a dodge but maybe that's not what is being gone for and I'm misunderstanding what I should be doing....
