I once tried to change the battery on my phone, it exploded and knocked my eye out. Better play this game, it's safer.

Loop is repetitive. Art is reused, often in the same day, with it appearing that the same person with different names is coming to get repairs. Story appears to offer choice, but is railroaded. Add on to that that you are actively encouraged to invade the privacy of "hot women" to share photos with a sleezy guy. Does not appear to matter whether you choose to not do so; after 18ish days, there doesn't appear to be a benefit to protecting privacy. Just feels gross.

So here is the deal. I love cozy repair games. I played the demo and hoped in the main game it would let me do more things. The repair I find fun. And I liked feeling like I could help stop the bad guys.

Pros:

There is an endless mode of just repairing but without the extra stuff it kinda gets old fast as you only repair 5 types of phones.

There are fun cameos

There is upgrades and decorations and you can work with the government and choose who you want to report. I didn't report someone once and I didn't get into trouble but not sure if there is a consequence.


Cons:

There is a blonde guy who comes up and says he knows you have the software to hack into peoples phones and he wants hot girls pictures (No I am not kidding, wish I was.) He offers to pay money for them. I was hoping in the main game you could tell him no. But apparently you accept it? In no way would I accept this. He comes back. First off you should be able to tell your government friend he has a leak, cause no one should have this information. Second you should be able to access your contacts and delete him (You can't that I can see) and tell him to go away and that he is disgusting or at least tell him no. He comes back and says hey I thought we had a deal. No we definitely did not! I refuse to do his icky quest!

Second, I haven't played the real game a lot. BUT I reported an active crime boss, or at least a criminal to Mr. K your government dude who doesn't give you a choice but work for him and he says, it wasn't what I need. Dude he is committing crimes. This should be exactly what he needs. It makes no sense.

Third you are forced either to date a woman or be terribly rude to to not date her I assume. There is no hey can we be friends. You either are nice or a jerk. No middle ground.

It is a game of choices with not a lot of choices.

There is a reporter from a small newspaper who wants you to steal information and give him. Guess what... you can't say no. You can't tell him I am not doing that. You agree, I guess? You just don't send the info if you don't want.

There is a bit of an illusion of choice. Your decisions do seem to have an affect to catching the bad people Mr. K picks I guess? But it seems dumb you can't report an assault that is going to happen? You can only save the info for who knows what

You do get approached by a woman if you fix her phone in time cause she comes the next day if you don't and is quite rude, she tells you to visit her home while her husband is gone...ew. No thank you. I skipped that and thankfully the house on the map disappeared.



I really liked it at first and then I read a negative review and I started thinking about it. The idea is fun in thought. Being either a good or bad guy is intriguing to me. HOWEVER the lack of choices in a game about choices feels a bit...hollow. And the p3rvy man who wants the girls pictures the fact you can't report that to Mr. K or the police feels wrong or at least say no get away ew! It is supposed to be a game of choices and moral decisions that you actually don't have a lot of choice.

I get lack of choice on working for the government man. That makes sense. BUT I think that is the only one from the scripted three NPC's that do make sense. I as the player would never send pics or info to a newspaper.

In Summary: If you want choice, this isn't the game for you. If you want moral dilemmas then yeah okay fine I guess? But there isn't consequences as far as I can see so far for denying them. Which I find okay. Kinda bummed. I guess I should have realized the demo wouldn't be much different than the full game but sometimes in the full game you can do more.
One last comment the blonde guy that asks for the picks is on the main picture as if they are proud of him. It is kinda creepy.
