Maybe I didn't notice when I played the 0.x web version a few months ago, but I think the global building scaling is new, ie the cost of every building rises when you build any other building. I have to say that I don't like it very much--the game is naturally limited by the space on the island and the road connections you have to make, so further imposing scaling on a global basis seems a little rough. By the time you CAN build it (reaching Village status), because the cost of ALL buildings goes up with the construction of previous buildings regardless of whether they're the same type of building or not... the cost will require SEVERAL THOUSAND HONEY to build an apiary.
