A short and abstract point and click game. You play as Mio, a new employee at an information center for the dead before they move on. The visuals were the main reason I purchased it. I've been in love with lvl374's artwork for a good while now.

I had to put it on my wishlist as soon as I heard it was being made. I definitely need to play NIDANA at some point. I didn't know they had made a game before this.

I loved the developer's debut from last year, NIDANA, so I'm happy to spend just two bucks for around 35 minutes of the same flavor, this time in point-and-click visual novel form. While NIDANA told its story without words, halfmoon is driven primarily by dialogue and some notes. It may seem less abstract because of that, but the writing strikes an even balance between minimal, natural, and philosophical, which matches the audio-visual presentation. Still allowing you to take what you want from it, as with any art piece. And speaking of art, the style here obviously distinguishes it from other visual novels, though I also like how there's subtle variety to the pointing and clicking. Similar to NIDANA, very small twists arise when the storytelling calls for them. Although I'm eager to see the developer concoct more experimental interactivity (the possibilities are endless), these experiences have been some of my favorite examples of effective minimalism in games.
