Played this game and tried to do most of what the game offered. Completed it in 3 hours. Here's my two cents of the game:

Pros:

- Nice retro visuals
- Interesting setting
- Interesting Characters (mostly)
- For people who want no combat, no tension, and just a bit of casual gameplay, where you travel, focus on reading the lore and completing some minor puzzles, this game is nice.

Cons:

- Buggy ESC menu / Main Menu settings section. Wouldn't always open a certain tab.
- Jumping sometimes bugged out, you had to fall off something to get it working again. Mostly caused by stairs.
- The world itself feels too empty. Sometimes you open a gate and see a vast open field with lots of ruins or something. Then there's like 1 or 2 items somewhere in the middle, and a couple of NPC's. Not much off the beaten path
- While the game isn't meant to have combat (and that's fine), it is sorely lacking in tension, or any sort of danger for the player. Your biggest fear in this game is running up a narrow hill to see if there's something there (and usually there isn't), in case you fall down and take a bunch of fall damage.
- The game gives you so many health items, yet nothing in the world is actually dangerous. The NPCs constantly speak of how dangerous creatures roam around, and a bunch of bodies can be found throughout the world, yet nothing whatsoever actually showed up through the entire game.
- There were so many things in the world that seemed like they were going to be a key factor near the end. Yet they weren't, and there were no answers. That can be appealing in some cases, allowing people to theorize their own answers, but in this case, not really.
- The ending came way too abruptly. You were given a choice with very little tension or weight, you picked a choice, and boom, ending cutscene?
- Upgrading your items and buying new ones had very minimal effects on the game. I didn't notice a difference for example when taking a ring that increases my running speed, nor when I upgraded my Staff. There should be some clearly seeable visual feedback on the changes, it cant be such a small difference that you don't even notice it, as then it becomes a letdown!

For a first game, the developer did a lot of world building and writing nicely. Most of the lore + worldbuilding is good. But they forgot the key thing, the "hook" of what makes this game good. I still have no idea and I played through it. There's no gameplay element or mechanic that makes you think "oh this is so cool" or in general, anything that separates the game from countless others.
The game tried to go for something like Outer Wilds, where you uncover mysteries, do some puzzles and eventually come to a final ending choice, but that game had the appeal of making the journey interesting, challenging, and different from other games. This didn't.

This review is not meant to be a "Don't buy this" review. This is a first game and for that, it is actually pretty solid. There's a lot to improve on, but that doesn't mean the game was trash. I wish the developer all the best in future games, and perhaps, if they are still interested after this, they might continue this same world and setting, as a separate new title, with some improvements and a new story (maybe add some combat/danger into it if you do, eh?).

PS: Really loved the Finnish mythology lore! Maybe mention that in the game description page? I had no idea what the world was based on, but as a Finn, ended up enjoying the lore a lot once I saw the first texts regarding that lore!

For a first time game, I'll give it a 6/10, a 7 if the bugs get fixed.

The atmosphere is cool and the music is good but it is just a walking simulator with a plain world with barely any content. Found a weapon but didnt encounter any enemies for the hour i played. There was only 2 bonfires and i died to fall damage and lost half an hour of progress and i dont know where to get all the things i lost because the world is massive but is empty and every place looks the same. There was a cool card game mechanic and was probably the only fun i had playing this game. Its cheap and i have high hopes but at the moment there isnt much to do except exploring an empty world. I would still buy the game to support the dev but its not much yet.

EDIT: Played the game a bit more and my point with the bonfires was on me because i was stupid, there are quite a few places you can save but i have a new gripe with the game. On the creators latest post on instagram it says he is working on his next project which implies this game is in its finished state and new content will not be added. This makes me feel like the game is just a cash grab. The creator has posted 100 reels of this game on instagram alone and all of them are like nonstalgia bait and it feels like the game is just made so he can make reels and shorts about it saying "do you want a dark fantasy retro game that gives you a nostalgic feeling" normally with golden brown or that one dark fantasy song playing and then when you actually play the game you just walk around doing badly made quests with no depth and collecting items that seem like they lead to nothing. I think the dev meant to make an actual game seeing as there is a weapon and heals but just copped out and decided to make slop reels and leave the game unfinished. I really wouldnt recommend this game it just seems like a scam unless you do just enjoy walking and conveniently the game is EXACTLY slightly over 2 hours long just so you cant refund it. Im not gonna refund it cuz i hope something will come out of it but i wouldnt buy this game.

Been anxiously waiting for this game. So glad we finally get our hands on it. Looks and feels very good, and I'm so ready to get lost over and over again. Just a tip to help everyone get started, to fix the camera in the beginning, go change your sensitivity in the settings, and you'll be able to look around. Couple things, are we supposed to take the sword leaning on the log in the beginning? And every so often, I can't jump, not sure what causes it, or what brings it back. 30 minutes into the game and I have to go to bed because it's late, but I'm very excited to play more.
