🟡 CONCEPT is an attractive blend of sim-cade flying, world exploration & simple quest completion. Played out in a seed generated world with a minimalistic setting & chill atmosphere.

🟡 GAMEPLAY veers from calm & relaxing when cruising, a joy when flying, to frustrating when attempting some take-offs & landings. Learning how the instruments work together & in relation to deciphering the situation given is paramount to getting something out of the game.

Exploring & uncovering new biomes & checkpoints is quite fun. Though completing deliveries does get quite repetitive. Plane upgrades offer motivation, but eventually run out. The grind to gain enough cash for endgame achievements another factor to keep playing.

🟡 CHALLENGE is violence free, with the goal of completing deliveries against logistics or the changing environment. For the most part can be casual such as exploring the map. As is completing jobs with fuel limitations or quickly due to a lack of time. Fading light or weather make safe landings & take-offs a little more tricky. As does completing deliveries as they disappear after one attempt.

🟡 ACCESSIBILITY is good with a complete checklist of beginner concepts to learn at the start. Aided by the simplistic flying model which makes the game easy to get into. Additional checklists act as a training guide post tutorial. Difficulty is tempered as play can continue after crashing if the funds to makes repairs are there. A few events to impact flying wouldn't go amiss.

⚪ GAMEWORLD is essentially a sandbox replete with land masses & water formations. Scattered runways & checkpoints provide the means complete deliveries. Possesses a genteel vibe, but could do with more diversity to bring it to life. Other transportation (air balloons, aircraft) & wildlife using the same airspace. As would more weather patterns & radio chatter.

⚪ FLIGHT uses a nice simplified model that is easy to learn, with enough detail to be interesting & enjoyable. Taking off, landing & course corrections are its mainstay. Which takes some effort in understanding the connection between plane dials, different speeds, height, wind direction or power, & the use of pitch, throttle & flaps.

⚪ PLANE UPGRADES are in keeping with the simplified nature of the game. There are plenty though; x10 levels per x8 components (Engine, fuel cap., controls etc). Would have liked to have seen these possess more detail. Perhaps limited to certain locations & for some parts to fail & need replacing depending on the part, mileage or biomes visited.

⚪ WORLDMAP is minimalistic, offering a pleasant ambience to conduct the delivery missions. Map seed offers some variety with the positioning of locations & biomes, but little else. If anything it feels too empty at times & would benefit from a few landmarks, even road, more types of weather or even just a few people dotted around the landscape getting on with life.

⚪ STAYING POWER goes beyond the x6 TRAVELASKLISTS of in-game achievements inc. visiting biomes & completing deliveries etc, provide some longevity. Augmented by those tied to x13 unlocks for additional plane skins. Replay value is somewhat inherent in the seed created world, the amount of mission choices & plane upgrade path.

⚪ AUDIOVISUALS match the budget level. Nothing dramatically bad, just a composition of basic visuals & ordinary tracks. The audio effects especially engine sounds & the wind are pretty good. Though could be better with more weather effects highlight the splutter of stalling engines, engines cutting out, crashes or bumpy landings. More background noises would enhance the mood.

⚪ UI composition is fine & the information provided useful, but organisation leaves a lot to be desired. The dials on the bottom left are too small, making the information hard to read. Better spacing & larger dials, perhaps with a see-thru dashboard would make for a useful compromise.

⚪ PRODUCTION is fine. A few bugs that don't really detract from the experience. Its greatest need is QOL, which would take this game to the next level. Such as spending $ on upgrading checkpoints & airstrips (better clearance, wind flag, lighting etc). Some legit snow & water upgrades. Time/Day alterations to cost money. Optimisation & stability presented no issues.

🟤 LANDING is the most frustrating aspect of the game. Let down by a lack of contours to adequately allow assessment of angle of approach. Difficult to grasp when to touch down as there is a lack of textures & no plane shadow. Having landing checkpoints in the midst of uneven terrain without even a guide to demonstrate the best approach doesn't help.

🟤 MODELLED PHYSICS make the plane feel flimsy. Manoeuvring can feel like piloting a paper plane even in perfect conditions. While the plane can feel spongy when landing & taking off. Since it can be difficult to understand how the plane responds in certain conditions, mistakes are easy to make. Like accelerating with the brakes applied causing the plane to tip over.

🟤 TAKING OFF can be problematic at checkpoints or water platforms. The plane can become non-responsive on certain terrain, requiring little corrections to move the plane to a better take-off site. A way to reposition the aircraft instantly would be beneficial for novice pilots. Even if its costs funds to do so.

Despite the very minimalist graphics it's a very polished experience with a lot of thought put into it. The flight physics feel good and the dev has been steadily updating it over the last few weeks. Cheap as heck too so an easy recommendation!

Astoundingly fun little game! Simultaneously challenging and relaxing. Really cute art style too!
