Crisis: Third Way is an interesting game even if... bluntly, extremely syncretic. Painted deeply by disenchantment with the modern politics and war of the Russian Federation, yet equal disenchantment with "oligarchic European liberalism", the game goes from an interesting analysis of modern subversion of democracy and how nationalism can be harnessed for evil to a sort of pro-National Bolshevik (less Nazi, and more attempting to revive Soviet as a nationality with Russia as its core) position in its later chapters. Seemingly in a world of moral greyness, Crisis goes color-blind and twists an interesting plot back into a black-and-white dilemma.
Despite this, the art-direction is unique, and the rot of the 20-minutes-into-the-future world seeps through well. The electronic music of the first chapter rocks.
In the end, I would say it is an extremely Russian game, painted by national biases, politics, fears and hopes, somewhat similarly to how Far Cry 6's plot reflected the anxieties, contradictions and political landscape of America. For those who know or understand this psyche, it is an interesting story. For those who don't, it's an interesting look into that psyche.
