Endless Mode, Controller and Steam Deck support, Veindex. Endless Mode!!!

I added an endless mode to the demo! The plan for the final game is to add multiple endless modes that revolve around different mechanics of the game. This current one enables you to repair hull by collecting red minerals and refuel by collecting meteorite, a mineral you will only find very late in the main game.

I'm super curious what your highscores are, feel free to post screenshots here!

Also I added controller support, so all requirements for Steam Deck support are now fulfilled! I'm curious for feedback on how the experience is like.

Apart from that, I added a lot of small things, like the option to turn off CRT-effect, an early version of the "Veindex", an encyclopedia that keeps track of things you encounter and many bug fixes.

Possible Bug?

Okay after I have played the demo when the mission has ended I don't get the replay or upgrades buttons. It just gives me the results and I have to force kill the game to end it. I don't know if this is a forced end to the demo but instead of "ending" it's only "hanging" the game. This has survived two forced quits and continues now....

Localization added!

I added localization capabilities!

In addition to English, Veinrider is now also available in German, French, Spanish, Chinese (simplified), Korean and Japanese. I added pretty dynamic localisation functionality and adding more languages will now be less work, namely the actual translations.

Have fun and let me know how you like it if you're playing in any of the new languages!

Major Demo Update!

The demo received a massive overhaul!

The game just got bigger and better in most regards, here’s what changed:

♦ Much smoother performance — the heavy GPU usage has been fixed
♦ Visual overhaul across the game
♦ Two new biomes to explore
♦ A small surprise waiting deeper in the caves

Please note: Because the upgrade tree and overall progression were redesigned, existing demo save files will reset when launching this version.

(Bug) some times if I had max hp then I could suvive the lava zone some how.

this was pretty rare to happen but did make me have to go to the main menu and go back in but I just recommend putting a kill zone there to stop people from going to the void zone

(Feedback) Too much GPU use

Nice game as i watched Idle Cub . However, for a 2D game and even simple graphics, this demo is using 95~100% of my GPU. IMHO doesn't make any sense. IDK which engine it is (i thought it would be UE or Cryengine) since it's just a ".exe", but devs: Please, whenever possible rework the shaders to stop making the GPU to work like a horse. I even thought this issue might be a case where the game is rendering the entire scene and calculating graphics that are outside of the camera vustrum. Therefore c...
