Demo Update v0.2.8

Demo v0.2.8 is now live!

While this one isn't a big update, we really wanted to roll out a change addressing something that got a good number of players stuck so far.

Meanwhile, we're hard at work on a lot of code refactoring under the hood, as well as quite a few demo changes on the player side, so stay tuned in the next few weeks!

Let's take a look at today's changelog:

✨ What's new?

COMPUTER
- Password input is now case-insensitive
- Added black outline to all the text labels on the map
- Added consistent and player-friendly naming for all the title bar tabs on the map hub browser windows

🪲 Fixes

COMPUTER
- Fixed an issue where the "offline, enter password" overlay would cover the title bars of map hub browser windows on the computer

i really want to love this. the vibe and aesthetic are super cool, the premise is really strong, i actually kinda love the ui and the way you can open and close group and individual chats as well as the objectives table. i also fully admit i am dumb and maybe missed something obvious, and that also this game is a singular vision, with lots of intentional and deliberate choices to make you feel confused and figuring things out. that being said i was absolutely going out of my mind trying to figure out why ...

Demo Update v0.2.7 | Curious Odyssey Showcase

Demo v0.2.7 is now live!

Today we're featured in not one, not two, but THREE simultaneous Steam showcases 😂 I wish I could say there will be a 4th coming up tomorrow, but alas, we'll push our luck even harder next game 😉

So, today's new additions on the menu are: Curious Odyssey, a Steam event themed on story-driven, intelligent games with a focus on contemplative gameplay (goodness, what a treat), and another small (but quite exciting) changelog from us to celebrate the feature!

✨ What's new?

One of the demo's two possible endings has been extended to make room for solving a puzzle on the OSCILLOSCOPE and witnessing its very unexpected outcome!
UI:
- File storage on hub browsers on the COMPUTER are now styled as another tab in the window
- Some hubs now feature new and (for now) empty file storage tabs

🪲 Fixes

OSCILLOSCOPE:
- Fixed issue where the oscilloscope sliders were initialized with out of bounds values
- Fixed issue where turning the oscilloscope didn't immediately draw a curve on its display

Without further ado, here's demo v0.2.6's changelog:

Changes

OSCILLOSCOPE:
- "OFF" knob position now powers off its displays
- Added indicator that using this device is atm not within the scope of the demo

RADIO:
- Improved visibility of device name label
- Added a cheatsheet text file detailing the radio channels for flavor and more clarity

UI:
- Made the look of the settings menu consistent with the main menu and player's HUD
- Opening the chat and quest panels now darkens the background

COMPUTER:
- Renamed the files on storage at Comms Outpost for more clarity
- File name tooltips are now black instead of transparent, to increase readability

Fixes

UI:
- Fixed issue where horizontal chat separator lines would accumulate in chat tabs over time
- Fixed issue where clicking the horizontal chat separator wouldn't advance chat
- Fixed issue with day title cards showing up behind the chat panel (now they're drawn on top of everything else)

DIALOGUE:
- Fixed some spelling & grammar errors
- Improved some phrasing

Error on start

Error: Couldn't load project data at path ".". Is the .pck file missing? If you've renamed the executable, the associated .pck file should also be renamed to match the executable's name (without the extension).
