Null/Nihil pronoun?

So I went into this with the idea of being a willful non-entity putting everything into the monster. In the vein of the short story The Circular Ruins by Borges, where the creator loses all memories of self to form a new person in their mind. I chose the name Nobody Nothing, but then found the closest thing to non-existent pronouns I could find was "it" and that is very clearly a thing. The art is beautiful, the themes are touching, the idea is interesting... but this is just too short a game to pay what the studio is asking. If this were to be expanded on into a longer experience, maybe it would be worth the asking price. As it is, there is too little game for me to recommend this.

I don’t know how I feel about that game. I get that social life is important, but as someone with ASD and a clear tendency toward introversion, it feels like the game undermines the existence of people like me. You either constantly go out and be social, giving up on the monster, or you fall into a pit of despair and become a complete outcast. There’s no in-between.

I think the part that says the most about the game’s manichean view is when someone tells you that you are no longer open to the world. You can be open to the world without being a social butterfly. In fact, you can even be more in touch with the world than a social butterfly in many ways.

In my opinion, the game feels a bit shallow and fails to grasp the depth of human complexity. It feels more like a visual novel, as if someone is imposing their worldview through an absolute and unquestionable lens. As a result, the game ends up being more about the illusion of free will than about grief.

It can be emotionnal in a sens: I cried of frustration.

That said, I still liked parts of the story.

My ONLY reason for not recommending this game is the price for the amount of content you get. The art is beautiful, but I was able to complete all the stories and achievements in under an hour. The art is not complex enough to warrant the rest of the price, there is a lot of negative space in the screens so it doesn't fill the role of a visual novel, either. I felt that the choices I made were not as consequential as they should be for the price.
I did not request a refund because I did enjoy the game. At $3-5 I would absolutely say give this game a try- but even getting it on sale for about $7 felt steep.

Prologue Feedback

I loved the prologue and am super excited for the full game! Looking forward to the exploration of the themes of "monster" making and grief~ The art is very pretty, and the image of the monster is especially eye-catching and stunning. One bit of criticism, I agree with another poster that the name/pronoun selection screen could be a bit clearer as to what you're selecting these /for/....
