Demo Options and Optimization Update, MG Weapon Buffs

Hey, all!
Here is another update just in time for the weekend based on some of the feedback you all have been providing. Please keep it coming, as it has been very helpful! I can't promise I'll be able to address every issue or make every recommended improvement but I will do what I can where I can.

The main focus of this update is to fix many of the Options menu bugs and issues, particularly in regards to selecting Screen Resolution and Audio Output Device, and changing controls. I'm hoping these problems are largely resolved but as always if you continue to run into things breaking then let me know and I'll do my best to look into it.

Most Weapons have had their Health increased and the starting weapon, the MG-558 Machine Gun, has also received an accuracy and slight damage increase to hopefully make it feel a touch more combat effective.

I've also tried to do an optimization pass on the explosions and effects, hoping they will help reduce some of the stuttering and other slow-down issues.

Fixes and Adjustments

Updated the Options menu with more thorough saving checks when settings are changed
Fixed multiple issues where some Options settings would not save properly after being changed (particularly in regards to Screen Resolution and Audio Output Device)
Increased how far down the player can look
Fixed the Mech's legs and pelvis from clipping into the cockpit view
Increased the Health of most Mech Weapons by roughly 20%
Heavily reduced the particle count on most explosion and smoke effects
Changed the weapon the Player receives upon death from the 'Light' Machine Gun (MG-226 L-Machine Gun) to the starting Machine Gun (MG-558 Machine Gun)
Increased starting MG-558 Machine Gun's accuracy and slight increase to damage

Small Demo Update

Fixes and Adjustments

Quick update aimed (pun intended) to fix some issues that popped up with the new FOV setting + more optimizations and balancing in Smelter.

Fixed an issue where the crosshair could become un-aligned at different Field Of View settings
Replaced the Rocket Medium Drones with Beam Sentries in the lava room before the Saxum boss fight in the Smelter level
Removed several smoke effects from both levels
Optimization to the lava visuals and effect

Demo Update

Hey, Scrappers!

Thanks so much to everyone who has checked out the demo and given feedback so far. I've been reading through the discussion posts and trying to pick out the biggest pain points and will try to address a few of them with this update to the demo.

Field Of View Setting

Added a Field Of View setting under the Options>Game tab. The FOV can be adjusted between 90 - 120, and will try to adjust the position of the cockpit and weapon placement to scale with the FOV change. The default FOV has also been increased from 90 to 95. There may be some clipping or model stretching, so it isn't a perfect solution but I hope it plays better for those with wide screen monitors.

In-Game Map

A simple Map has been added when pressing the 'Check Supply' button. The Map will mark the last Bunker the player deployed from for that level. If the player enters a new level the Map will be unavailable until a Bunker has been unlocked and rested at. If moving to a new level that the player has unlocked Bunkers at but did not deploy from then it will show the Map without any Bunker locations marked.

Mines

Mines have been updated with a visual and audio cue. They will periodically beep and light up as a clearer indicator of their location so hopefully no more scanning the ground in fear!

Explosive Weapons Buffs

Most Explosive Weapons, such as the Grenade Launcher and Cannon, should now Stagger enemies more consistently and cause enemies to briefly stop firing when hit.

Smelter Level Changes and Fixes

Fix to a culling issue on the Smelter level that would remove boxes and cause several invisible object collision issues
In the jumping section before the Saxum boss fight the number of Rocket Drones has been reduced to two and spread out more so the player can use the middle pillars as cover

Additional Fixes and Adjustments

Potential fix for an audio loop issue with Beam weapons and the Gatling Gun (if this is still occurring please post about it and I'll keep digging at it)
Slightly reduced Health of Turtle Tank and it's Left/Right Shields
Backwards Boost will no longer trigger when not moving or in neutral
Enemies should now hit react more when receiving damage
Added additional Stagger animations to Sentries
Reduced projectile velocity on smaller enemy MG weapons, making them easier to avoid

keybind feedback

i am a left handed player and use arrow keys for movement. no matter what the forward key is always remapped to Right arrow whenever i apply settings.

Logic behind weapons purchase and installation cost.

Each time I want to replace currently equipped weapon for another one at the bunker I need to pay its cost in full. That doesn't make sense to me, to be honest. It also creates a possibility of scenarion when player can get stuck without scrap and functional weapons. Chances are slim, but they are still there. So, my suggestions: 1. Once the weapon is unlocked and purchased for the first time, equipping it should be free, except for cases when it replaces destroyed weapon. 2. First machine gun should bec...

Nice Concept & Prototype

After trying the demo, this product managed to show something interesting if not forgotten by the community its complex enough to make you feel it could have its realism feel to it without being a battletech lore game too. (obviously this is a prototype demo, but it definitely can improve itself if it listen to ideas & feedback) So far what I've found about this game: -A Somewhat good mech movement feel (tank commander styled) -Customizable mech components and weapons -No other mech models to choose from ...

Audio Bug

Not sure if anyone else has had this happen, but after I adjusted the user interface volume I no longer got any audio from the game whatsoever. I tried reverting it, but that did not change anything. After a reboot the game is still completely silent.
