FPV Labs Early Access Update v0.1.0b

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for checking out FPV Labs during Early Access.

Your feedback and constructive criticism mean a lot to us. We have already started addressing some of the most commonly mentioned issues and requests, and this update includes the first round of improvements.

Drone

Added experimental lift setting
The drone now needs less thrust to maintain altitude during horizontal flight.
You can enable it on your own presets under the Physics tab.

Crash behavior is less extreme now
Added the ability to arm/disarm via keyboard mapping: A

For now, key mappings are not user-configurable yet. This will change in the future.

Maps

Reduced the chance of glitching through the floor
Removed film grain post-process effects
Costa Roja is now more colorful

Audio

Added a setting to turn off crash sounds
Fixed incorrect loading of sound presets

User Interface

Added a list of key mappings to the help screen
Added a Beta badge to features that are still in development
Fixed menu layouts on taller screen aspect ratios
Fixed text input fields not being scrollable
Several minor UI tweaks and fixes

Other

Improved stick calibration
Added a minimal report after stick calibration

Fpv Labs - Drone Simulator

Almost all of the major FPV simulators are MacOS compatible. Please make this one compatible with MacOS as well.

I use a mac for everything. And I have almost all of the FPV simulators. But I cannot give this one a try since it's not MacOS compatible. Bummer. I was too excited for FPV labs. Please consider making a MacOS version!

Early Access Review

I really wanted to like this, but for 20 bucks, you're getting two maps that have glitchy textures, bushes floating mid-air, and a crash simulation that's far off from real life. Also, the physics seem way off, and overall, the game is not optimized at all.I get that this is still in Early Access, but man, don't charge people 20 bucks to test your unfinished beta stuff while hyping it up as "the future of sims."I hope this gets better, but for now, it's pretty disappointing.

FPV Labs crashes on startup – critical launch issue

Hello FPV Labs Team, I would like to report a critical issue that currently prevents me from using the product I have purchased through Steam. Issue description The game crashes immediately after launch and never reaches the main menu. Early Access Review

Here's my feedback:

As of right now, this game is 100% not worth $20 in its current state.

Why?
I wanted to like this game, but I'm afraid I can't recommend it.
The default settings are poorly optimized, making it genuinely difficult for newcomers to jump in.
I spent a solid hour just configuring things, and even then, the flight dynamics didn't match my real-world drone experience.
What's frustrating is there are far superior flight sims available at lower price points that work brilliantly straight out of the box.
Unless you're willing to sink considerable time into tweaking settings, you're better off spending your money elsewhere.

I have over 300 hours in uncrashed and would recommend this game as it is better, and cheaper.

PROS: Good graphics, that's it.

Only 2 maps?! Really? Even in 'early access' this is not enough.

And physics... hmm... not sure. At least I'm sure that what the drone does when you hit something has nothing to do with real life. But nice graphics. Maybe this will be good in future.

Early Access Review

The lowest graphics settings that look half decent (potato with post processing and shadows set to mid) does not perform well enough to be fun to fly. I had hope that these devs would be able to tame the notoriously bad performance of UE5 but unfortunately no :( The latency from getting only 40-80fps is too high for my aggressive flying style that I can do completely fine in another simulator I highly recommend: The Zone. If you're considering this simulator, I advise you spend your 20usd on Nils Vo's The Zone instead of this, performs great (150-250fps on my hardware), has multiplayer, and even custom map support.

I should note despite posting this review from my Linux installation that I was only able to get this game to run in Windows. The game crashes shortly after opening a map when attempting to run it on Linux.

I will most likely be refunding shortly after writing this review.
