0.2.2 Demo Update

Attention Underlings!

Over the course of the Steam Next Fest, Memo to the Underlord received a very positive reception, as well as plenty of feedback for polish and finetuning!

In Update 0.2.2, we've added several of these changes and balance tweaks to enemies, gubbins, bosses, etc.

This will also be our last Demo update until 0.3, as we turn our full attention to Early Access releasing later this year!

The Depths

Being the first level, we decided to reduce the health/damage of various enemies to ensure they are a more consistent difficulty. Changed enemies include:
- Forklift
- Sentry/Guardian
- Rats
The Manager's health has been slightly reduced, along with his attack damage.

Fungal Farms

The Fungal Farms were in a good spot during the Next Fest, though we've made some small tweaks to some of their enemies:
- Chopper's melee attack now has better tracking
- Covercap's health was reduced, and now shoots/hides faster
- Rats have more health in Fungal Farms
Fixed an issue where the Rat King was slow to start attacking in phase 1. His health has also been slightly increased.

Abilities

Hyper Coffee has been nerfed, now reducing attack damage while active.
Dueling Glove's damage has been doubled and is now a more effective option.
Paper Storm's area has been improved and can be further increased with the Slimy Newt gubbin.

Sound

Lowered the volume of the projectile throwing sound for various enemies (Bombers, Choppers, Rat King)
Sentry/Guardians now have wind-up sounds before firing

Bugs

Fixed certain rooms getting soft-locked
Fixed bug where Eyeball enemies could get stuck in a far corner and become unreachable
Fixed door colliders, stopping players from getting caught on them

2026 Roadmap Update

Listen up!

With the Rat Race in full swing, and another stage ticked off the previous roadmap, it's time for us to pull back the curtain a bit. Below is our updated roadmap, leading all the way to 1.0!

This map of the company building demonstrates how a full run will eventually work; after beginning in The Depths, you can criss-cross through 3 middle levels, before facing the Executive Suite on level 5.

Lunch Rush

Our next major update will be 0.3, featuring three distinct new levels and plenty of meta-progression and content outside of each run. This will also be when we launch into Early Access proper, and we'll be releasing plenty of sneak peeks and unveiling future levels leading up to it!

Upcoming Levels

Ancient Archives, a twisting labyrinth guarded by bizarre magical traps and even stranger caretakers, who live to protect the vast libraries held within. Originally part of the Rat Race update, it has since been moved to Early Access due to the increased scope of each level.

Cursed Cafeteria, the endless culinary complex that keeps the building fed, manned by hordes of hungry coworkers. In this kitchen nightmare, the food is just as likely to eat you!

Meta Progression

Early Access will mark a shift in the gameplay, allowing you to even the playing field by purchasing upgrades in a new central hub area. Each run will expand your potential Gubbin arsenal, giving you more ways to raise hell in the dungeons.

Here, you'll also have the chance to talk to coworkers, who will give their two cents on your last run's performance.
