Hello there! Arty here, with some news!

I know I've said that I wouldn't implement some of the feedback stuff, leaving it for the main game instead. But you see, I lied. Ok I didn't lie but I kinda added some stuff to the demo anyway disregarding what I've said before. Because I like yall a lot. So feast your eyes on:

• The marvelous skip function! It's STILL kind of unchecked and wildly unpredictable, might break music and sounds sometimes, please rely on it freely but know it MIGHT break some stuff! For the most part from a quick test, it works fine, because I spent the better part of the last 4 days working on it nonstop, merry Christmas to me. Access it by holding CTRL on the keyboard, or on a controller, by holding Y/TRIANGLE. It becomes available from the second loop onwards, and for those who already completed it, it's available from the get go!

• A quit button! Watch in awe as you press the button to quit to the menu and it quits to the menu, and from the menu it quits to nothingness, too. Access it from the settings screen!

• A controls screen! An additional controls screen in the options menu to check what buttons do what. Nobody requested it but I thought it was odd to not have it.

• Optional naughty scenes! No more being dragged into them terrible shenanigans sans consent. If they say something inappropriate, say no to that!

• Various little adjustments and fixes that don't really matter.

This will be, almost certainly, the final final update. Even if it's not perfect, it's time to move on from Crooked Knobs Zero, to actual Crooked Knobs. Doing this has been an absolute blast and the feedback has been astonishingly positive thank you very much! But the price of doing a completely separate demo, kinda like a free DLC in advance, is that if I don't move on, I'll keep polishing a complete but small product that overall I think it's enjoyable as is despite its shortcomings.

I have no idea how long Crooked Knobs will take, but you bet I'll do all I can to make CK0 look exactly what it is in my eyes, a small, somewhat meaningful little achievements, and but a taste of things to come.

Discover the start of the strange happenings that will eventually lead into the main game!

This demo isn't anything new conceptually, but I truly missed the concept of a demo being a separate entity from the main game that can stand on its own, albeit in an abridged, shrinked form. So I gave myself a year, game jam style, to start from scratch and use the framework of the WIP Crooked Knobs to come up with something completely separate.

The result is Crooked Knobs Zero, a prequel story taking place on New Year's Eve 2014, that stands on its own as a full, small thing, leading into the main story taking place in the far future. And with a different lead too, none other than Lance the rhinoceros, guest character from the game Oh So Hero! (developed by Full-Frontal Frog), and mentor of the actual real protagonist.

It exists for two reasons: firstly because it's cool to have something extra that's not me chopping one game's leg to leave you hanging for a while. But also, secondly, because feedback is important and I want to get as much as I can to improve the main game! The framework you'll see here is basically the same with minor differences (because of the setting and context mostly, they had to work slightly differently), so collecting feedback is sure to help me out in the future!

Oh! And a huge thanks to all the guests that made it into this demo as a cameo! The main game for obvious reasons will have original characters instead but for a freebie it's ok to have something different instead~ You'll find plenty information about em (too many to list 'em all here), so go check em out and follow them on their X or Bluesky!
