Hark! Pantaloon here, hello. The new ROLLA Demo is live, and we're laying down a gauntlet.

Roll. Eat. Grow Repeat. Until you're in the Top 100 of the global leaderboards. Stay there until the end of Steam's Bullet Fest (ends June 15th, 10am PT) and a key for the full game will be yours on release day. Just be sure to link your email in the main menu first, so we can validate your entry and track scores. Every player that takes part will also be entered into a draw to win a $50 Steam gift card.

Game demo is entirely unplayable

The graphics ♥♥♥♥ up the second I open settings or go into the game, showing nothing except for some red flashing indicating, I'm guessing, damage.

NEW Demo, Trailer & Publisher

BREAKING NEWS! We've just received news of major changes over at the ROLLA Steam page. The reports suggests a brand-new demo, a complete art overhaul, new trailer and a publisher that has joined the fight.

New demo

The fresh new demo features some major changes to the old Steam Next Fest demo. Here are just some of them:

Redesigned monster - now a pink, pulsating ball of rolling flesh
New HUGE level - roll through TYPHOON TERROR and destroy everything in your way
Improved gameplay - gameplay now feels more fluid with ROLLA now faster and more agile
Tweaked powerup system - introducing a new RAGE meter. Fill it up to earn powerups
Online leaderboards - can you rise to the top and roll like no one has ever rolled before?
New music - featuring a brand-new track, composed, as always, the developer himself

There's a publisher!

ROLLA is now being published by the misfits over at Pantaloon. Those with the sharpest eyes might even spot some familiar titles in the demo!

Demo Update and News Soon!

Hi! It's been a while but ROLLA development is still very much rollin' (sorry).

This is just a quick update to let you know that you have about 24h left to check out the old Steam Next Fest demo because I'll be taking it down tomorrow. A lot has changed since then and it's just not reflective of the current state of the game.

However, on that note, ROLLA will be in Steam Bullet Fest starting on Monday, 8th June. I've got some BIG news to share as part of that event, so catch you all then!

Demo Feedback

We've had enough Katamari clones, and it's cool to see the idea taken in a different direction. Very intuitive to roll around, and eat people, and squish buildings. The Tony Hawk SKATE style letters around the map is clever, gives a little goal to achieve. Had no performance issues, and controller support worked great for me. Every run does feel a bit the same, but as a proof of concept level I really loved it, and I was able to get a little variety out of limiting how large I got, to hold off military bei...

Low-resolution/pixelization

Pixels make sense for 2D games, not for 3D games. Low-poly is great, low-res is not. Low resolution for 3D games was necessary because of hardware limitations. I don't understand this trend (especially among Finns) of making pixelized 3D games, this doesn't induce nostalgia - I remember my low-res gaming as being high res. Could be cool game, but sorry, my eyes can't stand this on a big screen. Make it optional....
