So come step into a gentle, heartfelt journey about imagination, memory and learning to fly… one puzzle at a time.

What's the game about?

Step into the world of Emilia, a 7-year-old girl who is eager to learn about flying through solving various puzzles and reliving her memories that are all placed in her notebook.

Designed as a cosy escape, Looking Up is best enjoyed with a warm drink, a soft blanket and a quiet moment to yourself.

Enjoy 16 gentle puzzles designed to relax your mind while offering light challenge, an original soundtrack by Péter Mári crafted to soothe and immerse, an emotional hand-told story unfolding through Emilia’s notebook and Steam Deck compatibility for cosy play anywhere!

We are aware of a minor issue with the Pegasus/Dreamcacther puzzle which is difficult to reproduce. We’re actively investigating it and appreciate your patience while we work on a solution.

Cozy vibes with training wheels difficulty

Thank you to BlueRoof Games for the curator key.
This is nonetheless an impartial review.

WARNING: this is an extremely short and easy game! A toddler could complete it and I’m not even exaggerating. I wrapped everything up in about 18 minutes, including a couple of minutes just watching the cute little scenes between a father and his daughter. So yeah, set your expectations right there before going in.

It does offer a very cozy, colorful experience though. The visuals are bright and pleasant, the music is soft, and the whole vibe is calm from start to finish. The father-daughter relationship is sweet and is nicely presented in the small moments you get between puzzles. There are 16 little puzzles total, all intuitively controlled by mouse. Achievements are clear and follow normal progression, so nothing confusing there. You also get the usual options like sound sliders and fullscreen, which is nice. The puzzles themselves are... fine? They’re fun in a very light, effortless way, where everything flows naturally without any real resistance.

And that’s kind of the issue. There’s nothing to figure out. No real challenge, no moment where you stop and think. The store page mentions 30–60 minutes, but unless you’re taking your time admiring every detail, it’s over way faster. Also, while “accessible controls” are mentioned, it really just means basic mouse input and standard settings. Nothing beyond that.

It’s not a bad game at all. It’s cute, cozy, and easy to go through. But it’s also very limited in both length and difficulty, so it really depends on what you’re looking for. If you go in expecting a super light, short experience, it can be a nice little moment. Just don’t expect much puzzle out of your puzzle game or you'll be thoroughly disappointed.

I saw videos of people playing this and it looked really pretty, the artworks nice and the puzzles were quite fun. Sadly though I didn't expect the game to be so short?? Took me about 25 minuets to finish the game what I mean for the price I cant really complain but Id just expect it to be a bit longer with more puzzles included :P
Despite that its still worth the play if you're just wanting something quick and simple that's calming ( •̀ ω •́ )y
