Manual or Automatic main cannons?

One of the unique charms of Navy Field 1 was the manual aiming of the cannons, both the angle and the traverse, and also the flexibility in equipping different weapons and applying armor in different ways (bulkhead, belt, deck, anti-torpedo) and choosing which crew groups to bring. The only thing I disliked about NF1 was the gambling of rolling good values for new sailors, and the sacrifice of experts to get veterans, and the associated cash shop "boost, vet, expert" thing that was practically required to...
