is my approximation correct that to get a Wizard hat it is necessary to get 10M steps, roughly meaning 4 months of constant playing?

The save file StepAway.savefile at %username%\AppData\LocalLow\Nementic Games\Step Away lists "DailyLoginStreak": 3, but the achievement didn't unlock.

In the game properties it says 0 bytes stored under Steam Cloud. I see two different folders in AppData\LocalLow %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Nementic Games\Step Away %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\NementicGames\StepAway The folder with spaces has the save file, and the other folder has the steam_autocloud.vdf file....

It would be cool if the background changed colour to reflect time of day.. or every now and then.. nothing fancy, I'd imagine it'd be reasonably easy to implement. Edit - Ah, I can see this is part of the Supporter Pack!
