Hi!

Our demo is part of Women's Day Fest! To celebrate this, here’s our first update since the release of our demo 😊

Camera

Reduced the speed of scrolling to avoid motion sickness
When entering in the distillery, the camera starts at the boat

Menus

Added a TikTok button in the menus
Added a Steam review button
Polished image sizes of social networks buttons
Added sounds when hovering social networks buttons
There is a confirmation pop-up when quitting your game

Dialogues

When there is only one dialogue choice, it is centered
Georgie can have an angry face
Every choice is associated with a mood that you can see by hovering the choice button

Bug fixes

Fixed: sometimes, the first line of a dialogue is skipped
Fixed: Baltus says “pool fools!”
Fixed: the tutorial fade background doesn’t appear when you reload the game
Fixed: you can pile tokens
Fixed: you can leave the map when dragging a token
Fixed: you start a dialogue when clicking on a tool if the character is behind the button
Fixed: the mouse cursor is the four arrows when going back to menu after the outro
Fixed: the game crashes if you leave the graphometer just after taking a measurement
Fixed: after using the tools and the map, you can be unable to start a dialogue

Cannot launch the demo

Hello, I tried to play the demo, but each time I try to launch it, it closes within a few seconds, before I can see anything loading. If you need any technical details, I am on an Asus laptop running on Linux Mint.

Hello, cartographers!

It’s Manu, narrative designer on Beware of the Cartographer! And I come with great news: our demo has been released! Play it NOW.

It’s been 48h that our demo is out and we are really touched by the kind messages we get from our players. Thank you so much for taking the time to play the demo and tell us what you think and what we can improve for the next update.

You all love the art style, the writing and the cartography gameplay. Also, the animals (but I am not surprised at all by this one).

I know there is some frustration about the shortness of the demo. If you want to extend your experience, why not joining our Discord server[discord.gg]? You will be able to engage with our community, learn cool stuff about cartography, and participate in the future beta testing.

We can’t wait to hear from you!

Hey, cartographers! Have you noticed how everything has changed here? A shiny demo dedicated Steam page and an announcement trailer, sure, but there's more! We are about to release our demo on Monday 2 March. During 20 minutes, you will introduced you the basics of cartography, the strange happenings in Runnymere, and the love story between a farmer and a sailor.

instantly got motion sickness from panning

I don't know how else to say this, but the panning across the screen instantly made me queasy. I'd love a setting to lower the speed of it? Or maybe click and drag the mouse setting?

[Demo] Mapping the town?

I feel like an idiot, but any hint to be able to find/map the location of the town, once you've mapped the statue and the smoking house? The smoke is in the way. What am I missing...
