Stuck in the demo

I've enjoyed the demo's atmosphere, but I can't progress past when it asks you to open to tavern. None of the buttons work, which is a shame because I really wanted to see what else the game had in store. I am partially playing with a controler (not every key works, so I supplement with mouse and keypad imputs), and I have an Azerty keyboard, which might explain why it does not work when it asks me to press M to open the tavern. Smashing every key like a caveman does not work either; so it's not a problem ...
