We can hardly believe it either! Our game launched last Friday, and so many of you picked it up over the weekend. Huge shout-outs to all of our longtime fans who have supported us for months, and everyone who has enjoyed and reviewed our game so far; it means more to us than you can imagine! Hey there! Thanks for showing interest in Shuffles 'n Scuffles. Since this isn't your typical roguelike deckbuilder, we thought we'd address some frequently asked questions to help ease you in. Hey there Shufflers 'n Scufflers! Here's a breakdown of what's new this update:

New Features:

- Added tooltips for enemies and locations.

- Added a counter for the number of days and weeks completed.

- Classes and difficulties must now be unlocked.

- Added a new keyword, 'Grapple'.

*'Grapple' moves enemies towards the player.*

Updated/Reworked Features:

- 'Divide' renamed to 'Split' to avoid confusion.

- Functionality added to the 'Draw' keyword for handling verbs.

- Failing to Knockback, Sideswipe, or Launch an enemy now has a unique animation.

- Carnival now will always leave you with at least 1 card.

- Improved 'Scatter's functionality with 'Sideswipe'.

- Adjusted how challenging later difficulties are.

- Targeting multiple cards now has an icon that shows how many were targeted.

- Improved tutorial pop ups.

- Cards now change appearance when their price is decreased in the Graveyard.

- Updated how the hand is displayed during combats and boss fights.

Bug Fixes:

- Fixed a crash related to cards with too few words.

- Fixed a bug where the Graveyard had a missing gravestone.

- Fixed a bug where after viewing the deck cards could move to the incorrect positions.

- Fixed a bug where 'Sideswipe' could crash the game on larger grids.

- Fixed a bug where 'Backfiring' to a Grid only targeted one enemy.

- Fixed a bug where clicking additional times on the grave in the Graveyard could skip nodes.

Shuffles 'n Scuffles is a deckbuilder roguelike with a cute cardboard aesthetic.

Art: The visuals are FANTASTIC - super cute cardboard aesthetic, everything is bouncy and happy. The cardboard boxy boss is a delight! Even the merchants are great and convey style.

Interface: Interface is very important for deckbuilder, and this game nails it! Selecting cards is smooth & responsive, animations everywhere. This is a treat!

Gameplay: It's fun blasting oncoming enemies, but I wish the grid was used more. There's a few cards that move enemies, but it's not enough of an emphasis. I found myself wanting more Into the Breach - shoving enemies into each other, into pits, blasting them with bombs, etc.

Spending mana one at a time to play cards is OK. Doesn't add much, but neither does it take anything away.

A big emphasis is on creating your cards. Most combinations I tried actually worked, even though the wording was often strange. However the mana cost does increase the more powerful it is, making it difficult to make 'broken' cards (which I understand, but also... breaking stuff is fun).

I did find myself always gravitating to making the deck as small as possible, keeping only mana giving cards and the one that blows up all enemies. Felt like nothing could beat that.

Despite all my critiques, it is overall fun blasting enemies with colourful cards.

Music: Is great! Capture the vibes well.

Overall: Fantastic art & interface, good enough gameplay. I'm glad the deckbuilding genre still has games willing to take risks with new mechanics!

a stellar debut from a new team. Shuffles 'n Scuffles manages to bring something new to the roguelike deckbullders genre. very clever little game. the grid mechanic is fresh and interesting. the music is a bop, and the art direction is adorable. great stuff all around!

Casual, cute, cozy, fun.

I've successfully completed 3 runs with 3 different decks so far and I'm having a great time (Steam doesn't count my demo playtime). I find with the custom card building feature, I keep discovering new ways to combo cards and tweak them to min/max their effects. Seeing what kind of unique synergies are possible is half of the fun.

Really cool concept, try it out!

I liked the demo for its hand-drawn artstyle and interesting take on a roguelike deckbuilder. However, I am a bit concerned about the replayability of your game, because for it to have a longer playtime, you will have to add exponentially more mechanics/"words". Additionally, somethings I would like to point out from the demo are: • Not being able to cancel a card when selected • No tooltips for paths/buildings • No explicit confirmation prompts only a few rare implicit ones • Knockback to more th...
