The Cave: Exploration Mechanics, Enemies, and the Future of Early Access!

The journey in Revella is about to get deeper—literally. The upcoming Demo update invites you to explore the new Cave, a place full of secrets, challenges, and rewards. In addition, we've introduced a new exploration mechanic that changes the way you interact with the world and discover its mysteries. Discover new powers, enemies, complete new missions, and meet Mr. Chomp!

This is one of the last major updates to the Demo before the official Early Access launch. As we enter this phase, we will be committed to active development, constantly adding content and listening closely to the community. Our game has an active crowdfunding campaign, but so far, I have not received any financial compensation for it, so I am committing to leaving the game in Early Access so that more people can participate in the future of Revella.

Your feedback

We are currently at version 0.1.4, and thanks to some feedback from the Steam community discussion, I saw that some people were having difficulties and getting stuck when trying to find the two fragments in the cat mission. The intention of this part is not to be difficult, nor to instigate an investigative puzzle (not at the moment). So I fixed the problem, making it much more accessible for everyone. Someone contacted me about the use of controls, and at the moment I am unable to provide that.

CRT effect and shadows!

If you notice, in previous versions, the CRT effect did not exist. I am adding this as something new to the game, and I hope the community will tell me what they think. Let me know in the comments or on our \[[url="https://discord.gg/ByqgpY3E7u"]Discord server[/url]]. Also, while playing Earthbound recently, I noticed the way they create shadows, so I decided to implement it in Revella, and I would like to know if you are satisfied with the new look!

Achievements and Map Update

The village map has been completely redesigned, and now you can access a new area that was not previously accessible. In addition, two more (secret) achievements have been added, which will be extremely important for the final game!

Acknowledgments and the future

I would like to express my immense gratitude for the publicity that many of you are providing through YouTube and X. This is truly incredible and something I was not expecting to happen! As a result, we have reached the milestone of 1,000 wishlists from April to August! I will soon be updating the game with the new chapter of the Demo, and I hope everyone likes the mechanics that will be added to the game!

WE'VE REACHED 600 WISHLISTS!

I'm delighted to announce that Revella has reached the 600 wishlist mark at the Steam Next Fest event! This milestone is very important to me as the game started without any financial incentive and without receiving anything in the crowdfunding campaign so far. This means that the efforts I'm putting into the game are being seen and are being rewarded with the feedback I've been receiving these days!

Revella's future

Revella's demo is currently on over a thousand Steam accounts, and that's a very important mark for a first project by an Indie developer! As a result, I've received some feedback and I'm here to share it with you.

General adjustments

Some sprites and tilesets will soon undergo improvements to their design, borders and lighting.
Items in the inventory will have graphics (sprites), different from the current model.
Adjustments to gameplay gathered from player feedback.

New content

New area: The Cave, coming this July.
New area: Forest, coming this August.

Each area will have different enemies, NPCs, allies, secrets and mysteries, and they will be different chapters
