Version 0.8 released - Mayor update implemented!

A new version of the playtest has been released!

I have worked a lot on this version of the game, thanks to all the feedback received from all of you.

Most of you had problems with how the monsters attack you, and that has been completely reworked to be clearer and more intuitive.

Also, some of you mentioned that you want to play it in Steam deck and I have implemented it! ( This has been a lot of work, but now it is working!)

Finally, some noted that the impact of the ball wasn't satisfying enough due to how the animation was done. This has been revamped, and now it is way better than before

- Lots of bug fixing

- Steam Deck and controller support has been added!

- New starting bonus for runs

- All balls have been rebalanced

- Complete Overhaul of the monsters

- A new Encyclopedia where you can learn more about the monsters ( you need to unlock the monsters through the game)

- Consecutives unlock for wizzards power

- Small changes to the Merchant

- Crash detector and analytics implemented

- New combo voices

- New icons for some quests, artifacts, and stats

- Implemented keybinding to change the keys that you like

- Deactivated special keys pop up, appearing after using the special keys too much
- Improved the way the ball hit the monsters, adding "hit stop" and improving the animations to give instant feedback. This gives a better feeling when you impact the monster

Positive Points: - The voice of the guy who says "Combo," "Monster Combo" is super cool! It makes the game feel alive! - Fighting boss after boss is great; there aren't 50,000 enemies to destroy. - The different icons that appear during gameplay are also super cool. - Every time you hit the monster, the damage sound gradually increases, and it becomes addictive :D Negative Points: - The Steam Cloud doesn't work. - The leaderboard doesn't work; I had to restart the game. - I don't understand what mana is...

Runix is compatible on Steam Deck and controllers

Runix: Pinball Roguelike is fully compatible with Steam Deck now!

I am pleased to inform you that the game is fully playable on the Steam Deck and with controllers.

It has been a lot of work to implement the whole compatibility on the Steam Deck and with controllers, but I was finally able to make it happen!

Most of the work has been focused on implementing proper UI navigation, remapping controls, and ensuring that all text is legible on the screen.

I think that the Steam Deck is a perfect fit for this game, so I wanted to make it fully compatible so you can enjoy it from everywhere

Features:

Fully play on the Steam Deck without any further configuration
Remap the keys inside the app without the need to configure it outside
Stable high FPS
Play with a remote controller along with your Steam Deck

This is not the only hardware that I want the game to be compatible with. I am working on making it compatible with virtual pinball cabinets!

Hi everyone! I have been working hard to get the demo out as soon as possible!

How to craft a good demo?

Getting the demo right is harder than most developers realize. It is not only about making the game functional. You need to go an extra step.

A good demo should be

Fun
Bug-free (as much as possible)
Battle tested
Polished
Replayable (if possible)
With basic explanations about how to play

It is difficult to have it right from the beginning. And it is something that you will improve over time, even when you think it is finished.

How have I crafted my demo?

After having all the systems in place, I have been testing it with friends and people who are close to me who have played lots of games. I analyzed what their pain points are. What is fun and what is not. All the bugs that they encountered...etc

After having a good demo. I have taken it to some presential festivals to see how more people are playing it, noting the feedback from users, and changing the bad things.

What is the status of the demo?

The demo is mostly finished! Now I am adding the leaderboards, wrapping up some small details, adding some text so you can understand better what to expect in the demo, and adding more content to make it more replayable.

I want it to be as good as possible so which is why it is taking a little more time. So I can give you the best demo possible for the game!

Works brilliant on steam deck

Playing the demo now...I enjoy pinball and rougelites, and now they are combined, quite unique having this mash up. On my wishlist, day 1 buy. Many thanks too for making it playable on steam deck. You should get the you tubers Crow continuum and NewLeaf88 showcasing this on their pinball channels....

Fun little game, great concept. Some constructive feedback for you: 1- The "Ball Effects" hint has a grammar error, saying "it's" instead of "its" without the apostrophe. 2- When in the shop, there is no indication how much removing a ball actually costs (it costs 50 but that is not shown). 3- When many things are on the screen it's quite difficult to tell sometimes where your ball is, especially when it moves quickly. You should put a clearer outline or glow on the ball so the eye tracks it even when t...

Completed the demo on the 1st try and got to Infinity mode, but the game crashed from a runtime error on Quest 3. Fun game, but: 1. need to turn down the sensitivity on controller when using Ultimates. 2. find out what that runtime error was and fix that. I've wishlisted it. I'll keep an eye open for updates.
