TLDR fun game, bad ending. I do not strongly recommend this game, it just feels too harsh to not recommend it. Also, I plan to play the prequel I just learned existed, so I can't be too harsh. The game style itself is pretty good. I like the point and click mystery style. It was also pretty quick, and I got it for super cheap on sale. I like the art. I felt smart a couple times since I was able to connect the clues. However, the ending is not good. There are a lot of loose ends still and the motive doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. It felt like a twist for the sake of being a twist without any real way to figure it out. Also, when you get the final clue you need to figure out what's going on, it's just revealed without you getting a chance to put it all together. For the amount I payed, I don't regret playing the game, but the ending was disappointing and if I'd known that going in I might not have bought it.

unfortunately can’t recommend. the very first conclusion, in which you suspect the painting killed the victim, is the sort of thing which could be a good joke but isn't too far off the suspension of disbelief needed for deductions later in the game. if you played the demo and didn't see that as an option, the explanations the game gives you at the end won't be satisfying. it was just about worth it on sale though, as everything other than detective part is immaculate.

I really enjoyed the game. The characters were unique and memorable, the diffrent soundtracks subtle yet unique, the story mysterious and gripping. at first i wanted to play only for an hour or so but i just couldnt get enough of it and finished it all in one sitting.
the artstyle was also beautiful, and the banter / dialogue very well written.
Cant wait for the next case of Sally and Grimoire
