Star Tracking and Level Hopping!

Hello! And welcome to another update! We’re doing a quality of life improvement update to the demo and sharing some highlights from Magfest!

Demo Update

We've been heads down working on Hoard’s LLC and we wanted to share some quality of life improvements from the main game in the demo! We're shipping some features to help y'all track your progress and revisit levels you wanna perfect.

Cloud Saves 🛡
- Play on any device and pick up where you left off!

Level Select ▶️🐮
- Jump straight to any level you've already completed!
- No more clicking through prev/next to get back to that one level you KNOW you can three-star
Star Tracking ⭐⭐⭐
- Your save file now remembers your best solve for each level
- See at a glance which levels you've two-starred, three-starred, or still need to perfect
- Time to fill in those gaps!
Pause Menu Redesign ⏸️📁
- Fresh new look with better clarity
- We also updated the credits so make sure to take peak to recognize all of the hard working folks bringing Hoard’s to life 👀
- Look at those tabs move!
Hold Button Progress ⏳
- Buttons that require holding now show a visual indicator
- No more guessing how long to hold!
New Levels 🆕
- Swapped out two levels for fresh puzzles that better fit the difficulty curve
- Try them out and let us know how they feel!
Audio & Visual Polish 🎵✨
- Added background ambiance track to set the mood
- Fancy new dialogue backgrounds to make those corporate memos really pop

Magfest

In January, we were included in the Magfest Indie Videogame Showcase!

Magfest is a 24 hour showcase, so we added the BIG RED BUTTON to help folks reset the demo

Thank you to the 478 people who tried out the demo at all hours of the day! You made the convention so much fun

Core Hours is when the booth was manned with a Cephalopod Ink dev. Otherwise it was completely self running!

New Weekly Puzzle!

We've been working on our game this year, and as we work on it we still wanted to share some puzzles that aren't going in the final game. So we've started doing a weekly puzzle!

To get access:

Download the Hoard's LLC demo on steam
Go to the options for the demo in your library and click on Properties \[click the gear or right click in the Recent bar]
Go to Betas and use the code [c]AlmostWeekend[/c] to get access to the [c]weekly_puzzle[/c] branch

New puzzles drop Fridays!

From Burlesque to Bureaucracy!

Hello! And welcome to Issue 2 of our devlog! Enjoy some pictures from our adventures in the Poconos and sneak preview of some full game milestones!

Colossal Con East Appearance!

From the stage to the dungeon! We had a blast at Colossal Con East in the Poconos in early September! We were invited by a fan and friend to open at one of the burlesque shows!

Peablossom even made an appearance for the show!

From chants of “Eat the Rich!” to people singing “Solidarity Forever” as we left the stage ♥️We’ll never forget that incredible experience! Thank you to all who made it out!

Not only did our number one fan invite us to open for his show, but he also cosplayed Franny! 😭

Full Game Milestones

So much to do and so little time! We’ve been adding so much to the full game, take a look at things to come

💾 Saving & Cloud Saves
- We’ve implemented saving and cloud saves
🧩 New Tile Mechanics 🥚🪓🤔
- Each department introduces mechanics unique to that area
- Like in world one when you get to be customer facing!
✍️ Tons of Writing
- Zak has been crushing it! He has the drafts out for the first two departments and they're hilarious and heartbreaking
🎨 Employee Designs Finalized
- This is a huge milestone! Now that their in game designs have been finalized it makes building out cutscenes so much faster

🎮Controls Experimentation
- We’ve been listening to feedback! A few of you found clockwise/counterclockwise controls clunky for mouse, so we’re testing a click-and-drag style rotation. Join our beta test and let us know what you think!
