Demo Update - Ltd time Orca Hat for World Ocean Day, and kitty face expressions!

Hey everyone! Got a couple exciting announcements today!

1️⃣ Cozy Beach is taking part in the World Ocean Day fest! It's an awesome charity-focused event that raises money to help save the whales, and we're very grateful they've included our game. You can see the whole event page here:

2️⃣ There's a new event exclusive for Cozy Beach being in the World Ocean Day fest- an orca hat! We set it up so Hotrod will gift you limited-time-only items when Cozy Beach is taking part in Steam events- so keep your eyes peeled for Steam announcements when we release a new item!

Right now it's the orca hat for World Ocean Day, and we have some more fun ones planned for later this summer. Log in to the demo and talk to Hotrod to get your free in-game orca hat!

3️⃣ We updated the demo with avatar talking animations and facial expressions!
-Your character can make faces now! Type in text emojis (listed below) into the chat window and your kitty will make the face. Adorable and hilarious! :X is our favorite by far (inspired by Blue Steel)
-Your character will also display a talking animation when you type something to your friends- it's really immersive once you get chatting, especially with the different emotions you can display.
-We'll have an in-game guide soon but FYI the emotes you can type are:

:D or XD
:(
:O
>:(
:X
So if you type this
"I love hanging out in Cozy Beach and catching fish :)" you'll say it with a smile!

4️⃣ We have a few more event-exclusive apparel items that we'll be announcing this summer, so keep your eyes out! 👀

Demo update with an exclusive whale shark hoodie to celebrate Steam's Ocean Fest

Hey everyone!

We have a fun demo update out today to celebrate the start of Steam's Ocean Fest.

We added a new NPC named Hotrod, he's a surfing penguin (possibly the best surfing penguin?) and if you talk to him while Steam's Ocean Fest is happening between May 18-25, he'll gift you a limited-time-only exclusive whale shark hoodie!

It's a really fun new feature and we're planning on doing a couple other limited-time-only items for upcoming events - so keep your eyes peeled to our announcements so you can grab more exclusive goodies!

FYI, if you get the limited-time-only items in the demo, they'll transfer over to the main game when it comes out.

So log into the demo now to get your rare whale shark hoodie!!

Demo Update: Tutorial added!

Hey everyone - exciting news!

We've been hard at work the past few weeks putting together a really nice, comprehensive tutorial for how to play the demo- and it's out now! We got some feedback from players about not understanding the controls at first, so we asked Rizzi to help us out.

When you start the game up, Rizzi the Raccoon will welcome you to Cozy Beach and show you how to fish, run around, swim, change your appearance, and all kinds of stuff! For every new thing you learn, you win a cool prize - new apparel! Our 3d artist Bokhum did an amazing job on the assets - you get some sweet sunglasses, an amazing squid hat, a pretty tropical lei and more!

Just boot up the game and Rizzi will be there to say hi and show you the ropes!

The tutorial is the main feature for this update, a few extra things:

-We got waving back in the emote wheel

-We added some beach balls you can kick around

-Adjusted a few other things here and there, bug fixes & QOL fixes

We still need to update some dialog (Nevermind what Razzi says about making the quests to show you the island- that's Rizzi's job now!) and do some other stray cosmetic updates but we wanted to get this tutorial out to everyone as soon as possible.

We really appreciate player feedback, it's super helpful for us as we go. Thanks to everyone who has submitted feedback and suggestions so far!
