Exark Demo @ MIX Summer Showcase

Greetings, captains!

Thank you to everyone who joined our playtest! Your feedback was invaluable in helping us fix up annoying bugs, make tweaks to balance, and refine Exakr's core loop and features.

As a result, we're concluding the playtest and launching the full Demo at this year's MIX Summer Showcase!

The demo content will be the same as the playtest, but will include some UX improvements, more final art, and localisation into French, German, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages. Catch our brand new demo trailer at the MIX premiere on 1 June, 9:00 am PT here:

Of course, just because the playtest has ended doesn't mean we aren't listening to feedback! If you have any thoughts on the demo, leave a comment in the Steam forums, or join our Discord here[discord.gg]!

Unconquered Sun doesn't feel like an interesting enough sidegrade to the Orichalcum Core.

Unconquered Sun, compared to Orichalcum Core, takes up four more tiles of space to produce one more of every resource, while still having the same number of crew slots (one). In my opinion, this kind of numbers tweaking, while making a difference at the early game, doesn't do enough to differentiate runs with the Sun from runs with the Core....

Play the Exark Open Playtest!

Greetings, captains!

I'm pleased to announce that, as part of this year's TurnBasedThursday Fest '26, the Exark open playtest is now available!

In this playtest, the first of Exark's factions - Great House Arioch - is available for play.

The House's ark - the Diurnal Ark - is a masterpiece of precision engineering resplendent in gold and powered by the radiant Orichalcum Core.

House Arioch's expert gearwrights and artificers are the finest in the Core Regions, and their arcane engineering prowess is reflected by powerful multicast bonuses and inventions that grant permanent improvements. As such, House Arioch generally prefers to play tall, with a smaller set of upgraded buildings bolstered by powerful boons.

The content in the playtest includes:

one faction, Great House Arioch.
50+ buildings, 50+ crew / items, and 30+ relics.
reach up to stage 7 (out of 9), including a glimpse of the final regions in the game.

Please note, however, that a number of features are not yet available (including metaprogression, the rank system), and some of the art for buildings and crew members are blocked out by placeholders.

We're super excited to be part of Tiny Teams 2025, a week-long event run by Yogscast Games to showcase games made by solo developers and micro studios!

basically, it would be really cool, if after "turn" (aka travel) you could see how much resources each building produced on the last travel, and maybe even how it changed compared to the "turn" before that. maybe in total amount and in resource gained per second. actually, having the qol option to toggle a "resource estimation per second" for each building in their description would be nice to have, to better estimate the amoount of resources a building can generate which can be quite a bit confusing with...

Better cursor suggestion

Hey devs, if you're reading this and taking advice, please increase the size of the mouse cursor or create a new one (that is also bigger). Started the demo and thought that the game was frozen until i realized that it was the windows cursor that was kinda blended with the background....

This really could be something big! Despite some issues, I really enjoyed the demo and was sad I couldn't do a longer run :) Looking forward to playing more and seeing what else the game has to offer. Pros: - Buildings are interesting and provide some cool build possibilities. Combine that with crew and tag synergies, and the difference between Cycle/Trigger/Expend/Trash and there's a whole lot to do there! Definitely the best point of the game and that's exactly why I'll be playing more on release most l...

Too bad the demo is so short

My buildings were just starting to get crazy synergized like 100 food per trigger etc :( But yes, this game has potential. Wishlisted! 60 stacks of slow were really evil at the end. each stack with 4% slower CD hits hard.
