I just beat village 4 but there are still decor itens from tabs 2,3,4 that are locked. How do I get them?

BALANCING

- Trending items that are rejected by adventurers will disappoint even more: a 100% drop in satisfaction when purchasing a red item

- You can move NPCs anywhere in the game area; there's no more collision. So you can integrate them into the decorations, do whatever you want! (This helps reduce drag-and-drop bugs :)
- Addition of rotation to certain soils

UI/UX

The game lacks clarity for beginners, and we're sorry about that, especially for a cozy game. A few small improvements are in order:
- Added tooltips for the building panel
- Tooltips for trending items
- On the tooltip of articles, if it is a trending article, the bonus/penalty is displayed in color directly on the tooltip.
- Tooltips for building customization and info buttons
- Added the average success rate next to the difficulty level
- Added a tutorial window in the first village on building customization and NPC movement

DEBUG

- Minor bug fixes for decorations
- Minor bug fixes for NPCs

First of all, thank you so much for playing Glimvale and for all your feedback. We've been reading everything and working on improvements since launch.

SUCCESS STEAM

- DLC Achievement Removed

We owe you an apology

We recently discovered that the DLC achievement was counting towards the game's full achievement completion. Our intention was for it to be an optional DLC achievement that wouldn't affect players trying to 100% the base game.

Unfortunately, we couldn't figure out how to properly separate it from the main achievement list. We honestly don't know if Steam allows this or if we're simply missing something. We've contacted Steam to ask for clarification.

In the meantime, we've decided to completely remove the DLC achievement to avoid frustrating players who want to fully complete the game.

We're really sorry about this. We genuinely thought Steam allowed DLC-only achievements that didn't affect completion percentages, and we feel a bit silly for not realizing the issue sooner.
If Steam provides a proper solution later, we'll revisit it. Sorry

Achievement Fixes
The achievement for reaching 100 Population has been fixed.
If your village already has 100+ population, the achievement should now unlock correctly.

BALANCING

Following player feedback and our own observations, we've made several balance adjustments: Increased the gold requirements for Village Levels 3 and 4.

Increased recipe purchase requirements. Increased adventurer spawn speed. Increased the population cap from 100 → 110.

Adjusted progression pacing in later stages of the game.

Growth, change in the size of the treasure chest

At certain sizes it became difficult to move around the village. The chest will now stop growing after reaching a maximum size of x8, instead of scaling infinitely.

DEBUG & QUALITY OF LIFE

Added rotation support for several decorations.
Fixed an issue where some drinks and decorations could transform into unexpected objects when placed.
Various small fixes and improvements.

At the moment, we don't have any planned content updates. We're a very small team, and right now we're mostly focused on fixing bugs, improving the game, and listening to feedback.

That said, we'd love to hear your ideas! :)

We can't promise anything, but we'll definitely read everything and keep your suggestions in mind if we decide to work on future content.

I opened this before bed, as I was falling asleep, and ... nine hours later, I regret nothing. :)

To be honest, I'm not well-suited to explain this game. While this is an idler, I have been playing rather actively. :D I've not played many idlers, and my addictive personality has kept me hooked on building, decorating, upgrading, and optimising production. The cha-chings ($$$), the flashes of income earned at each location, and the "just one more upgrade" cycle is so captivating, particularly because it's not a deep simulation. So it lulled me into this zen-like relaxed state such that I am not too troubled (at the moment) by losing an entire night of sleep. :D

It's a town-building idler meant to simulate the *atmosphere* of a small mmorpg world. You play as the developer(?) of the little world, and you will push out preset "patches" that will alter the questing//economic demands of the villagers just a bit. It's meant to be a bite-size game, as I was notified that I'd completed the quests for the first town after only a couple of hours or so. But, I had the option of continuing with my first town, which I took, as I wanted to build it out as far as possible. I've now unlocked the entire skill tree, as well as all ten buildings, though have not fully upgraded each perk or building. To do so would probably double my current nine hours of playtime.

I grabbed Glimvale on release (with the supporter pack) soley because of the artwork, not fully understanding the gameplay loop. It's so whimsically colorful. There are HUNDREDS of decorations. There aren't many buildings, though each one does have a small variety of design options upon upgrading, including a selection of colors, so you can really make your village look all your own. The decor has a great variety of nature inspiration, rustic style, and gothic. There are also some "secret" creatures to unlock via placing the right combination of decorations in a small spot. I chose to use a little bit of everything as I organically developed my map. I was, for the first half of my playtime, quite unhappy with my haphazard building placement (though note that you can move your buildings after placing). But then I started spam-clicking patches of flowers, trees, candles, pathways, etc. to fill in all of the gaps, and now my map looks like I meticulously planned it (go snoop on my profile for some screenshots).

I wasn't really sure what I was doing--strategy-wise--for the first several hours of the game. There's some tutorializing, but it's light. This game sits in a sweet-spot for me personally, wherein you're clearly meant to poke around and discover things on your own through trial and error. The game is quite forgiving in this (I suspect by design), as buildings don't cost much to start out, and decor remains incredibly cheap throughout the game. Building upgrades become progressively costly, but the prices "grew with me" in terms of my grasp of the game as the hours passed.

Note that I played this on my gaming laptop, so I cannot speak to performance on a handheld, or with a controller. On my laptop, everything ran smoothly and the controls are very simple.

If you like experimenting with the aesthetics of town design, this is such a steal for the price. You can create eye-candy maps with very little effort, and for that purpose, there's tons of replayability here. And if you like semi-mindless clickers, I think this has all of the dopamine-inspired ingredients for an addictive idler. I highly recomend this for anyone who appreciates hand-drawn artwork, and who enjoys tinkering with town design and production optimization.

increasing population?

what are some things working for everyone else? i have 540% + happiness rate, level 208 and they will not go above population 77 i have one of every building maxed out and hundreds of item combinations..? any suggestions more than welcome :')

Glimvale is a delightful mix of town building, management and idle/incremental. The management aspects of the game are a little less prevalent than the other two, but it's still just enough for your choices to matter to some degree instead of blindly rushing through progression. The art is really cute and you can make really pretty towns and environments with little effort. The music is chill and non intrusive, which is perfect for an idle game in my opinion.

The amount of decorations you can place makes for so many possibilities. I did not expect to have so many customization options. There's a lot of items that have variants; different styles, colors, you can also rotate/invert some items for variety.

I didn't realize this when I bought the game, but there are actually multiple towns with different themes that you get to build up! It also looks like they each progress in the background when you are playing on a specific town, which allows you to progress multiple towns at once while idling.

There is also a system for unlocking more decorations by placing specific decorations a set number of times on the map. It kind of feels like little quests you can do to get rewarded with more customization options!

You'll also have access to a talent tree, where you can spend gold and also crystals, which you unlock by completing quests on your town center. Those quests are completed by selling specific items at buildings, and as your adventurers go and buy them you can get the unlocks from the town center. Those talents do carry over from one town to the other, so you can build more stuff from the start!

I haven't encountered many bugs so far, but it does look like there is no way to leave a town and go back to the map. I am either missing something here or there was an oversight. Also, when I try to return to menu, the game just closes entirely. Maybe that's how you were meant to go back to town selection, but the game is crashing/closing instead?

I have nothing negative to say about the game. It's fantastic. Especially for the price, absolutely worth getting. I bought it as soon as it released and got the DLC too. It's been really enjoyable so far, and I'm looking forward to 100%ing it!

Edit after playing 5+ additional hours: Now that I have pretty much completed the game, I wanted to edit my review to clarify that there are quite a lot of bugs in its current state. I've made a post on the forums listing everything I've personally encountered, but the game definitely needs a few debugging passes. I still recommend it, but I have to admit I'm a bit surprised it released in this state now that I've had more time to play it.

(Probably final) edit: The developers are very active and have been fixing bugs every day since release. A good bunch of the bugs that were present at release have been fixed! Happy to see things being worked on, and excited for potential content updates later down the road.

Feedback after getting close to completing the game!

Hi! I have been absolutely loving my time with the game since last night and wanted to provide some feedback on bugs I've run into, things that didn't quite feel clear, and inconsistencies I've noticed while playing the game! - The achievements button in the menu is named "Success", which is inconsistent with it then being titled "achievement" when you click on it. - The patch counter resets if you leave a town/close the game. I'm in a town where I've released a dozen patches last night, and this mornin...
