Closed Playtest This Weekend + Warfactory at Rogue Bots!

Hey warriors!

Just a quick update to let you know we’re taking part in the awesome Rogue Bots 2026 event organized by the folks at The Midnight Gamers.

Their selection of games and the whole idea behind the events is genuinely great. Robots meet roguelikes! If that sounds like your thing, take a minute to browse the whole lineup.

In other news, we're kicking off closed playtesting for our next experimental build on Discord[discord.com] this weekend. As always, we test there for a few days before the build rolls out to the wider playtest group. So if you want to get in early and help us squash bugs, come join us!

New Playtest Feedback

I like the idea of the game but it's not what I expected. It's closer to Mindustry than Factorio, where you hop between maps to take control. When I saw 4x elements on the steam page, I thought there would be more depth between maps or large scale locations to control. Maybe I missed something, but my launch button for the next map just didn't do anything. The quest rewards just talk about giving you more perks for the next map, so I think you start from zero every time. The map is super small too. -I str...

New Playtesting Build + Early UI Update Sneak Peek!

Hello warriors!

A new Warfactory build is now ready for you to tear apart. Download the latest update for Warfactory Playtest on Steam and you’ll be ready to go!

Here’s what’s new

Updated UI. We’ve been cooking up a major visual refresh for the interface, and this is your first look at it in action. Our goal was to bring some early-2000s RTS vibes to the UI with skeuomorphic elements (think StarCraft or Stronghold). Much to improve but we love it already. This is just a sneak peek of what we’re working on — tell us what you think!
Reworked Enemy Spawning. Bugs no longer swarm in from the edges of the map. Instead, you’ll find enemy lairs of varying difficulty, and when the wave timer hits, bugs start pouring out of them. You’ll still run into the occasional roamer, but it’s a lot less crowded on the map than before.
Building Ruins. Destroyed buildings now leave ruins that you can restore instead of rebuilding them from scratch. You can also picture yourself as a space robot samurai slowly walking through the smoldering remains of your village and vowing vengeance. We support you.

Experimental Builds Now Open to All Playtesters!

Hey warriors!
Our first experimental build is now open to everyone. It’s a big one! We’re reworking how the map looks and works in Warfactory.

RTS-style map-wide Fog of War (visuals very work-in-progress)
Revamped map generation and larger scale (~4x larger than Alpha)
Enemies can now destroy buildings
New lose condition: main building destroyed
Improved resource generation and distribution across the map
Redesigned unit models

You can play it now by going to your Steam Library and launching Warfactory Playtest.

How to Play

We've been testing this build with our Discord community for a few days. The initial response and stability have been good, so we've decided to open it up to everyone enrolled in our Steam playtesting. We've also just sent out a fresh batch of invites — if you got in, you're good to go.

Going forward, expect a new experimental build roughly every ~2 weeks. These builds are meant to help us test ideas we're playing with, so there will be rough edges. Your feedback is what helps us figure out what stays in the game and what doesn't!

Playtest feedback

Not bad bones. I liked how you had to use where you placed buildings to make the next tier of item you need. Conveyor belts need work though, they didn’t always auto connect to buildings they were next to. Played long enough to open another section with a radio tower but didn’t see any enemies. Are there any in the playtest?...
