Now it's time for 1.2! So what has changed in this build? In short a lot and nothing!

The Gallery in Bubble Frog DX was a way to show the love of Bubble Frog from Kickstarter Backers to Fan Artists and it has gotten an overhaul. Now it runs better (allowing for a fancy pants video screen!), a new layout, and some little Onigiri hiding around the place!

Originally Bubble Frog DX released wrapped in "Bubble Wrap" a super handy tool for getting Game Boy ROMs into execuitables to be playable smoothly. The wrapper was web based, as a result the Gallery (which was still made in Godot) had to use the Web Export version, meaning it was much more limited on power. As a result the gallery chugged for weaker computers and I was limited on what I could do in it. Now the whole game runs in Godot from the ground up, this time using the amazing GodotBoy plugin to run the game its self.

This means things should run better, the file size should be smaller, and this allows for a planned 1.3 which will include more goodies!

Bubble Wrap is still an awesome tool (made by Friend of myself and Bubble Frog, Mooon.Bit) and without it Bubble Frog DX would have never seen the light of day but for my needs it was time for a change at the core of the software :)

This is the 'and nothing' part of that earlier blerb. Bubble Frog DX, the Game Boy Color title hasn't changed in this build. It is still the same fun and frustrating game you bought! The emulator running it is updated (Shout out to GodotBoy!) allowing for some handy features like the ability to return to the Gallery, change the games volume, and reboot the emulator.

Bubble Frog DX has been playable on Linux since the start thanks to Proton but now if you're running Linux/SteamOS you'll download a native Linux build!

So that's about it! This isn't SUPER exciting for anyone beyond myself I'm sure, but this does prep Bubble Frog DX at a core level for future updates to add more things to play. I've got some other projects in the works right now (one will be appearing on Steam soon...ish?) but once I've freed up my todo list a bit I'm planning to add fresh new content to Bubble Frog DX for you all to enjoy!

The back end of Steam is an intimidating nightmare to use, as a result there is a non-0% chance I've messed something up. If you're having any issues fear not, I'm sure I've got lots of Tutorials open and I'm trying to figure out how to get everything working ok.
