the game will load up and play the music but leaves me at a black screen with v1.01 in the bottom left corner at a black screen and will not go any further. Can anyone please explain how to fix this

1. Go to WineD3D For Windows and grab the WineD3DForWindows_3.0-staging.zip IMPORTANT : use 3.0 version, NOT the latest one; 2. Unpack the archive; 3. Copy three unpacked files (d3d9.dll, libwine.dll, wined3d.dll) to the game installation folder. Default path for x64 OSes is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Safecracker 2 ; 4. Play the game. This method could possibly fix other glitchy Kheops titles....

I'm well aware of the way to play the game in Window mode by altering the config files. I don't want to play in Window mode, I want to play in Fullscreen. The problem with the Window mode is that it hijacks my cursor and won't let me move the window. Does anyone have a way around these two issues? I had heard that Safecracker was an AMAZING puzzle game, which The Room was inspired by, so I bought it. I'd like to be able to actually play it either with a movable window and no cursor hijack or in fullsc...

I am as surprised as you are! It automatically selected Proton 9; maybe other versions work, I did not need to try. Valve would probably rate the game Playable because of the small font size. Otherwise, no issues.
